Has anyone been able to connect their xbox S via ethernet cable?????

There's no forum category for xbox S, but anyways... I've tried 3 different brand new xbox s's and none will recognize my ethernet cable. It flashes, and works for a second, but literally only a second until it goes back offline. I still have my xbox one
original and that works with the ethernet cable perfectly fine. All of them work with my wifi, but only the xbox S has issues with the wired connection. Microsoft support has been kind, but unable to help and just tell me to return my xbox S for a fourth time,
no thanks. Does xbox s work with a wired connection for anyone out there????????

Cannot connect with McAfee

Has anyone been able to connect to Xbox Live with their McAfee Firewall turned on.

I have added every setup and IP address i can but still cannot get McAfee to let the connection go through.

I am running the Xbox connection through an Ethernet connection and have setup the Home Network.

Has anyone worked this out yet??

Dreading what the future holds for me!!

I currently have 2-dual hdhomerun tuners linked via Ethernet to my laptop and use the xbox 360 to view and record tv shows. Even though xbox one has only been out for a few hours, has anyone been able to get the xbox one to connect to WMC? And how? I have
a feeling it's going to be a long night trying to figure this out.

Have you checked in network settings advanced what ip it has for gateway?

All Settings ->Network ->Advanced

Either way you should be able to make troubleshooting with a network test there in Network settings basepage.

What I discovered, not having X1S but using local networks with different routers and consoles and PCs is that local address of router could be 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1.

So compare router from some PC you have , or the other boxes that work - and set X1S to same gateway address.

I think this must match the router to use DHCP in router and get an ip-address. The three first parts must match on every unit in network, just last number part is different.

If your local network has very unusuall ip xbox S might not find it. Maybe if this was long ago you forgot about it.

Gave up and connected via cable. At least ethernet is implemented both on NB14WN and Xbox 360 S!

To quote from the Source page taidara posted above: "Short-Term Workaround: An Xbox 360 can be connected to the wireless gateway via an Ethernet cable."

So simply use an ethernet cable, and you'll be able to connect to LIVE.

Is your 360 connecting to the Internet via Wi-Fi or via an ethernet cable? If connecting via Wi-Fi, the MacBooks may be interfering with the 360's wireless signal. That would cause you to disconnect from Xbox Live.

Assuming your xbox has been updated sometime in the past few years, you don't need the disc. If it hasn't been updated, connect it with an ethernet cable or do the update manually via www.xbox.com/update
