    Harmony Remote with XBox One & DirecTV


    I have some general questions about set up, etc. I have the following components:

    TV: 60" Panasonic Plasma (60ZT60)

    Audio: Bose Cinemate GS Series II

    Remote: Logitech Harmony 900

    DirecTV Satellite Box: Genie HR34

    Media Player: KDLinks HD700

    Questions:

    1. Does DirecTV work flawlessly with the OneGuide? Is there any picture degradation at all? Does anyone have a similar set up and have any suggestions, comments, etc? Most posts I have found regarding this topic are old, so I just wanted to check on the
    current status.

    2. Does anyone use a Harmony Remote with a similar set up? Any suggestions on that set up? I will basically do four different primary activities using the XB1: Watch TV, Play Game, Watch Bluray, Watch Netflix. Should I program each separately in my remote?
    Also, should I let the XBox control turning the TV on and off or use the remote?

    Thanks for any and all assistance you can provide. I just want to have everything in mind already when setting this up, and also be as simple as possible for the Mrs., particularly watching Netflix.

    Directv DVR controls not working after update

    I just tried using the play, FF, Rew, etc, using my Xbox One controller and they work fine. The problem has to do with being input from the Harmony remote, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense because the Xbox One gets the signal from the Harmony remote,
    but then doesn't output it to the Directv box.

    2/14 Update broke harmony remote functionality for TV app.

    I just tried using the play, FF, Rew, etc, using my Xbox One controller and they work fine. The problem has to do with being input from the Harmony remote, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense because the Xbox One gets the signal from the Harmony remote,
    but then doesn't output it to the Directv box.

    Sorry for the long reply, I have a harmony one remote and same exact thing as you. Maybe it is just a DirecTv thing? I am going to get the xbox media remote anyway and see if that fixes it?

    This issue must be related to the Harmony Remote (or any IR remote?). If I use voice commands, the Xbox One sends them with out problem. But if I use the Harmony, the onscreen display from the Xbox One shows the button I pressed, but doesn't send the command.
    This is very strange, definitely a bug in the latest update of Xbox One.

    I don't think this is an STB issue, since all of the DirecTv boxes use the same IR commands.

    I'm controlling my AV system, including DirecTV DVR and Xbox One, with a Harmony remote. I don't have the DVR going through the Xbox One. The only problem I'm running into, reception of the IR by the Xbox seems very weak, I have to point it right at the
    xBox and can't be too far away. None of the other components have that problem, I can point the remote toward their general vicinity from 25 feet away.

    Ender, if you're using the Harmony software, you can set your remote up in the activity settings to leave the power alone for the Xbox.
