Hardware or software problem fan and system running when turned off

I need to know if this is a hardware or software issue. the system sounds like it running and the fan is blowing constantly when it is turned off in standby mode. Others have said they called and are being sent a new system. Since it appears that MS support
knows nothing about these preview updates, I need to know if this is software related. Can someone please tell me before I go thru the process of getting a new system. I would rather not have to reinstall everything if I don't have to.

    :)

  2. Hardware or Software Problem

    Hello,

Since the first update in 2018 my console has been having issues. One of said issues is games, apps, and everything else taking too long too start (even xbox idle). The only way to fix this is to power cycle, however it is only fixed for 15 minutes to an
hour before I have to power cycle again. When this happens I cannot do anything on my console game or app wise. I have tried to factory reset and got no results, even tried to edit startup settings (which seemed to help others) and still got nothing.

Any help would be very appreciated, would love to be able to play my Xbox without my games black screening after half an hour(ish).

P.s.) As of yesterweek games will not install or download after 15-45 minutes without a power cycle.

Oh and my console is the first XB1 to be released after the "Day One" Edition. Got mine on day 1 but it was the normal version.

    Hardware or Software Problem

    Hi there,

if a power cycle will only fix it temporary, then I suggest doing a factory reset (with keeping Games and Apps installed)

See this links for the steps on how to perform the factory reset: Reset Xbox One Console to Factory Defaults

Keep in mind that you will need the account credentials in order to download your profile again.

If this doesn't fix the issue either, then it might be a hardware issue and I suggest contacting Xbox Support to see if they have any other steps to try.
