Hello,

I have dealt with Teredo driver issues far too many times. It is inexplicitly infuriating how many times I have had to deal with this issue. I decided to come here because I was sick of just copy pasting the same things and getting a negative outcome to each attempt to resolve this issue.

If you don't understand already, I am having xbox network connectivity issues due to teredo driver issues! This issue has happened to me too many times to count.

Currently, I am on the newest version of windows on my university secure wifi. I have no antivirus installed other than the default windows antivirus. I have windows firewall on, etc. I tried pasting the basic commands into command prompt (in admin mode of course) and have found no success, even with restarting my computer each time.

I am somehow unable to talk about this subject in the "chat with us" section of support (yikes). Is anyone able to help guide me towards finding a solution? I can provide technical specifications and screenshot/share settings as needed. I know all the basic fixes but none worked for me, and to be quite frank, I am not going to just go out and search the internet for six hours to fix such a dumb problem.

Lastly, does anyone know why this happens so frequently, and why microsoft is so slow to change anything about it? I know I'm not the only one having this problem. It occurs every time I make a minor technical change or network change, which is ridiculous.

Ok, so somehow microsoft thought it would be a good idea to duplicate my microsoft answers account so now I have to continue this from here.

It asked me to sign into the same email (woohoo) and then said "choose a name" after trying to sign in (not woohoo), but I will continue from this point onwards.

I think the issue with something like this is that I am on university provided wifi, so I am not sure if they are capable of changing those ports directly to my router (or whatever it is).

I can't help with any solutions as, personally, I have tried everything on the internet without success.

As to why, I believe there is an inherent flaw within the Toredo Protocol somewhere which was introduced during the major Windows Update in August 2020. It doesn't affect some people, others find workarounds, others fix it outright and others find no fix. I have had Toredo unable to connect since that Update and it has persisted across a completely new Windows install. I do sometimes wonder if it is ISP related but have nothing to back that one up

So, in a simple way, Teredo is a security protocol that protects our connection to the server. When this protocol can't qualify, it might be due to a lot of reasons, but usually is because of some configurations on our router, such as some ports closed that are needed open, the UPnP feature disable, or even the IP not on the DMZ zone. Try this mate:

Call your internet service provider, and ask them to open the ports described below on your router.

Port 88 (UDP)

Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)

Port 53 (UDP and TCP)

Port 80 (TCP)

Port 500 (UDP)

Port 3544 (UDP)

Port 4500 (UDP)

Also ask to disable and then, enable it again the UPnP function and if you have a modem and a router the process has to be done on both devices.

Besides, ask them to put their PC's IP in the DMZ zone configuration.

To locate the IP of your PC: On the taskbar, select Wi-Fi network > the Wi-Fi network you're connected to > Properties.

Under Properties, look for your IP address listed next to IPv4 address.

I know you say it clears when you search again, but I would go through the
Teredo troubleshooting page, and see if any of those help. This is most likely going to be the cause of the issue.

Teredo is basically allowing features that come with using IPv6 while on an IPv4 network. The steps to get Teredo working are usually going to be easier than ensuring that you have an IPv6 connection from your ISP and properly setting up your home network
and devices for IPv6, and that page should get you sorted for that.

Additionally, the
Server Connectivity Blocked issue has it's own set of troubleshooting, but is more likely a symptom of your Teredo error than the cause of the issue, so start with Teredo.
