Hardware Issue - Power Off - Inactivity - Broke 2 Consoles

My first xbox one x console would not power off with inactivity, where as my old xbox one always did. I called support, reset the system, factory defaults, reset the power, went through the settings and it still didn't shut off after any amount of time.

They sent me a 2nd xbox one x, and it's the same thing. The auto-power off due to inactivity is not working, and it's really annoying.

Can someone fix this and report this to the right staff? I'm already on my 2nd xbox one x console and there is nothing left for me to try.

Firstly can you please check your setting on the console to if the power save setting on the console are powering the console down after a period of inactivity to do this please press the guide button then Select Setting / Power & startup / Power mode &
startup and in the top left under option you should see a setting to turn the console off after a period of inactivity you may need to change.

If the console is powering down without warning when in use please try
following this guide to hopefully troubleshoot the issue you are experiencing.

Inactivity off timer broken

It is possible the animals are keeping the console awake. You don't have any apps/programs running in the background, do you?

Sounds like this is a common problem. Sounds like if tv app is on in xbox one x.. it's not smart enough to turn the xbox off like it did previously in xbox one

I also noticed my console no longer powers off after 1hour of inactivity. Anyone having this same issue please help.

Absolutely! It appears you don't haven't adjusted the "Turn Off After..." setting.

To do this:

1) Double tap your Home button to bring up the Guide.

2) Scroll down to Settings. Select All Settings.

3) Select Power. Under Turn off or restart, you will see "Turn Off After" - This allows you to set your console to turn off automatically when not being used. Your options are 1 hour of inactivity, 6 hours of inactivity or Don't turn off automatically. Select
the "Don't turn off automatically" and that will keep your console on even when you are inactive for extended periods of time.
