    for me it's a tough call between either Dark Souls or Carnage Heart.

    they both have such steep learning curves.

    I think Carnage Heart is tougher as not only is it a strategy resource game, if you wanted to do well you had to learn to program the combat robots.

    you had to put in routines to scan for enemies then, depending on the results of the scan, turn, move, evade or fire.

    it sounds simple but the routines had to be "plugged" into a circuit which limited the number of routines used and the available paths for the routines to follow
