  1. Harddrive stolen.. can it be retrieved?

The xbox 360 hard drive associated with this account has been stolen. A lot of people have been in and out of the house, so we don't know who might have taken it. Is there any way to find out? We think it was stolen Saturday, April 12 2014, which is the
same day that this account shows its last activity. (BTW, I am not the regular user of the account, I am his uncle, but I maintain his account passwords, billing info, etc.)

    :)

Stolen xbox can it be tracked

For instance, AVG has software for Android phones (Samsung S7, etc) which enables you to track lost/stolen phones, even if your phone's OS has location disabled. Cars can also be tracked if lost/stolen too. They just need the proper equipment or software.
Websites and hackers can also track roughly your computer's geographical location when you use their sites/the internet too. Even if the OS doesn't permit it. I think this would be a good feature for Xbox, especially with more pricey consumer products such
    as the upcoming Xbox Scorpio.

Microsoft should be able to ban your console if you want them to due to it being stolen, if you tell them the serial number to it, because Microsoft does collect info of your console or use and personal info. If Microsoft doesn't do this, = How do they ban
consoles? =That way next time it tries to connect to Xbox Live, it will get immediately banned. Retailers and companies require high level customer service standards. And consumers work hard for their money, so it's only fair that the product works hard for
    them too.

You can also change the email address associated with your Microsoft/Xbox Account too. Also have Security Proofs on your account too. Include your mobile number and 2 email addresses which you use the most (outlook/google/yahoo/etc). And also, change your
    password.

Microsoft does do console bans. So I'm amazed how they can't, or shall I say, don't want too...., track your Xbox. Microsoft is the biggest software company in the world. I'm sure they should or be able to track Xbox consoles since they can ban them. smartphones
can be tracked if lost/stolen! And Xbox One consoles do connect to the internet/Xbox Live where I'm sure Microsoft gathers information about it. If you remember the serial number to the console, maybe you could tell Xbox Support/Microsoft and they could ban
the console next time it connects to Xbox Live. FOOD FOR THOUGHT!. It's 2016, not 1999. More devices should be able to be tracked if lost/stolen, because right now, smartphones can already be tracked. And if someone has disabled location, there is software
which users can download which still forces and enables tracking. I mean when you use the internet on your laptop, websites can gather geographical data of where your computer is being used. It will be a rough estimate, but it's a fairly good indicator. FOOD
    FOR THOUGHT.

Harddrive stolen.. can it be retrieved?

There's not a way for you to be able to see who has it. You would have to file a police report.

Not that I'm aware of from a consumer stand point anyway. That would be something the police would have to work with Microsoft on.

  8. Harddrive stolen.. can it be retrieved?

Hey there, I think the player may be onto something, and you have missed it.

Now, before you all gang up on me. You are right about getting the Police Involved.

Now, with my Xbox, it stored my Gamertag on the Hard Drive. Meaning, if someone has stolen the Hard Drive. They have access to his account. Meaning when or if they sign in. The IP address is obtained. You can see the IP address through
https://account.live.com and click onto Recent Activity.

What you could also do is, head over to
    https://account.live.com
and change your Password for the account

You will also be able to head to this link:
    live.xbox.com/.../Protection

From here you will be able to see if the user has signed into your account. And you can sst it so they will have to download the profile again

    I hope this helps you

  9. THANK YOU SunkNath. Unfortunately, it looks like there are no suspicious IP addresses in the history (so far, anyway). And, since I have changed the password now, it means even if they try to use it, they won't be able to, right? So, we may not be able
to get their IP. Looks like the hard drive is lost forever. It's really sad there are so many crooks out there. Someone just waltzed into the house, acted like a trustworthy person, and while no one was looking, stole the hard drive out of the xbox. Who
    knows what else they took.
