Harddrive broken?

    Please help!!!

    I have a 2 terrabyte Toshiba hdd.

    Worked perfectly for 2,5 years.

    Now suddenly I started a fairly big transfer from internal to hdd.

    While transferring it suddenly said lack of storage, so I cancelled it.

    Then the hdd went offline (has happened a few times recently)

    I took it out and did a hard restart.

    Now it comes on with a different name and shows 100% full, but no games are showing.

    What do I do now???

    If I format it, will all the games be lost?

    I tried make more space, and then it showed a few dlc's but no games...

    Totally in the dark here... any thoughts?

    Have you tried changing the hdd?

    If external harddrive will eventually be supported then I'll wait and see how it goes. I just hope that the update will be released before the harddrive is full and I have to start deleting stuff off of it. From the video, it seems that the Xbox One and PS4 work the same way I don't get why Microsoft don't let people swap out the harddrive.

    No because, everything on the hard drive will appear as corrupt on the new Xbox.

    unplug the hdd, fully shutdown console from the power menu in settings, start it back up, then do another full shutdown, then plug hdd in before starting up again, power on the hdd and then start console, if this does not work then the hdd may have gone
    completely.

    Hey OP, I'm afraid the above posters are correct. As I'm seeing no indication of the phone agent delivering that kind of messaging to you (that the repair order would not expire), I'm afraid you will have to open a new service request for an out-of-warranty
    repair.

    I'm pretty sure when you said you couldn't send it in right away support did not know you really meant for four months. And what does being an OTR trucker have to do with your not sending it out in a reasonable time? If anything
    you have the perfect job for it since you could send it out from just about anywhere in the country to Microsoft.



    I fail to see where this situation is Microsofts fault. Considering the information you provided above I am leaning towards this being your fault. Next time where a warranty is involved do not procrastinate.
