    Hard Wired Matchmaking..........Help

    Hi everyone,

Im having real trouble with Fifa 16 at the moment but its a bit of a strange one which I cant get my head around so hopefully someone will be able to shed some light for me.

Ive got a Router at the front of the house, all the correct ports forwarded. I have Open NAT according to the xbox which is great.

Because the wireless signal wasnt the best I decided to network a couple of routers around the house and use Powerline hard wires too, so my current setup is the following

x1 router with internet coming in to house, hard wired powerline connector coming out of a LAN socket to the WAN socket on another router which is right next to the Xbox, the Xbox is then hard-wired into that second router. The DMZ on the main router is
set for the second router so all traffic on the second router is under the DMZ, all firewalls disabled in second router and its setup to act like a rely/extender.

Now this is where it gets tricky, I can connect to both routers wireless and play games just fine, open NAT etc etc etc. But when I hardwire any router to the xbox ( still reporting open NAT ) it doesnt match make any Fifa game, literally been trying
for days now and the instant i switch to Wifi it find a match instantly.

I should also note, I can play all other games just fine............just seems like Fifa online dislikes the hardwired connection for what ever reason .

Also I have cleared the MAC address on networking settings, updated console and game, updated teams and hard reset to clear cache.................still the same. Just doesnt make sense to me that it works on a lesser connection like Wifi but isnt on Wired
even though its all still Open.

Hopefully someone else has had this problem and have solved it ?

    :)

    Hey there RiverWire.

It sounds like there may be some interference with the second router. What is the error that you're receiving when you try to play FIFA? It's odd that you're not having trouble with other games, an error message can hopefully help us get to the bottom of
    this.

To narrow things down a bit, can we first try plugging your Xbox One directly into your first router to see if there is any change with your connection trouble?

    Hi,

Could you provide the make and model for each and one of your router's.

Could you describe in more detail how you've configured your second router. As an accesspoint or as a switch?

Are you able to wire your console directly into the powerline adapter, and thereby, bypassing your second router?

    Hi Guys,

Sorry for the delay I didnt get a notification to say there were replies.

Ok here is what I have :

BT Smart hub 5 ( newest one released last month ) which is my main router linked directly to the main phone socket.

Second router is a TP-link 9980, TP-Link has DHCP turned off so that the main router controls IP allocation, Firewalls turned off as they are not needed as the main router handles that too. UPnP turned off and Router LAN IP different to the main router

Like I said before everything works as it should apart from Matchmaking, so I have OPEN NAT all the time, the internet works through both wireless connections ( currently setup with different SSID's to diagnose ) and I can play games as normal . However
Fifa's Match Making doesnt seem to like it.

@taidara, I have tried to link directly from the powerline Adapter into the xbox and get the same issue so I don't think its the second router.

@mister_maka , there is no error as such, it simply says could not find an opponent which unfortunatly is a common problem with Fifa 16 on xbox one, but normally its relate to NAT problems, cache or clearing the MAC history. ( which none of that works
    ).

    Hmmm. Odd behaviour.

But when I hardwire any router to the xbox ( still reporting open NAT ) it doesnt match make any Fifa game[/quote]Does this mean that, from a previous occation, you've made a direct (wired) connection, between
your Xbox One and to your HH5?

Just for curiosity (and it's likely not the culprit), have you tried to reinstall this game?

What is the make and model of your powerline adapters?
