Hard reset on xbox one

I kept getting the black screen of death when I'd turn on my Xbox. Normally I could fix it by simply turning off my Xbox and turning it on again. But today i had to do a hard reset, and now i keep getting the "took too long to start" with any type of action I try, whether it's accessing network to connect, trying to sign in, even trying to access Xbox assist.

My xbox shut off, and now it is back to the black screen of death. I don't know what else to try

Hello Sidney, try to perform the procedure below.

Turn off the console and unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely turned off.

Wait 30 seconds and plug the power cord back in.

Hold down the BIND (located at the bottom front of the console) and EJECT (located on the front of the console) and press the Xbox button on the console.

NOTE: Bind is the pairing button of the control.

Continue by pressing the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10 to 15 seconds.

Listen to the two tones of "activation", with a few seconds of difference between them.

Release the BIND and EJECT buttons after the second activation tone.

If your console is the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, it doesn't have the EJECT button. You can turn on Xbox Startup Troubleshooting on this console by keeping only the BIND button and then pressing the Xbox button.

When you're on the recovery screen, choose the "Reset while keeping games and Apps" option.

OBS:

-You need to know the email and passwords of your accounts when performing this reset.

-No data or game save will be lost doing this, everything is done in backup to the cloud servers.

If it does not return to normal after this procedure, proceed with an offline update.

Have you checked for dust build up in vent holes on side and rear of console I use hoover to suck out the dust or you can buy an air spray can

Have you tried a hard reset of the console? A hard-reset is known to fix many of the random issues that occur with the Xbox One (such as this.) You can do a hard-reset by pulling the power cable from the back of the xbox one for 15 seconds and then plugging
it back in
