    Hard reset EVERY day...

I don't know if this really fixes it but I haven't had any problems for 3 weeks. I unplugged my console from my power cord which has it's own fuse tripper and I plugged it directly into my wall outlet. I haven't had any of these issues since. This might
be the problem cause I remember reading that microsoft recommends plugging your console into a wall outlet.

I just picked up an Xbox One kinect bundle and soo far when sitting on my couch, hand gestures are a hit/miss for me. I have to stand up to get detected - FYI; I've done re-calibrations, wiped down sensor, adjusted sensor, etc

After reading this thread, I'm thinking of just returning the Xbox and sticking with my PS4 until Microsoft resolves these issues

Microsoft, you snooze on this issue, you lose!

Since the update last night (3/9/15) I've already had to hard shutdown 3 times. 3 times in ONE day. That's ridiculous and unacceptable.

It's the same problem that others in this thread have described... no apps will open and/or the console endlessly tries to shutdown and crashes, forcing a hard reset. I've been having this problem for months and months... but the frequency has varied. For
the past couple months it's been about once a week. I've basically had to become a regular on this forum, and the issue has gotten better and worse over time. I've called support and tweeted xbox support probably 50 times... no one helps, they act like
they have no idea what they're talking about. I was really hoping that this update would fix the issue altogether, as I do every month. On the contrary it has made it about 10 times worse.

Everyone suggests switching to power saver mode... that doesn't fix the issue, that just puts a curtain over it. Sacrificing some of the device's biggest features should not be a solution to its failure to function. I paid for a device that was designed
to have these features: instant-on, resuming exactly where you left a game, etc.... and there's no excuse for me to not be able to use them.

I've barely used my xbox today, and I've already had to power cycle it 3 times. This is a joke, and if I have to deal with this until the next update (potentially months away) I'm gonna be furious.

Maybe owners that are reporting these problems are a very small percentage out of all owners that are reporting issues and thats why Microsoft hasn't been proactive to resolve these issues?

Or, this is a deep-rooted software/hardware issue b/c some engineer goofed.......The only way I see this issue being fixed is with the slim xbox one when its released - similar to how microsoft addressed the RROD on the 360 with the slim redesigned 360

I've just got into the preview program, despite never having asked to go into it, I got an invitation out of the blue at the end of last week, maybe it's to do with all my complaining about this issue on here Hard reset EVERY day... :)

Anyway, you get to fill out these survey things and one of them last night was asking about your console being unresponsive when switching it on. Wanted to know did I get splash screens when launching games/apps, how often did it happen, am I using Power
Save or Instant On, has it improved/got worse/stayed the same in this build, which I couldn't really answer as this was the first preview build I'd had.

So it seems MS are aware of the issue and are actively investigating it. But why on earth haven't the just said so? Put a sticky up on the first page of the forum or something, why keep it such a big secret? It's obviously a cause of major frustration as
you can see from the amount of posts/threads with the same issue.

The worse bit is having it completely ignored! Why should it take a seemingly random invite into the preview program to find out they are even aware of the issue?

It's like they're going out of their way to try and drive customers away!

I'd like to get into the preview program myself as my console is already buggy as all get out so I'm sure I'd get used to whatever bonus flakiness they possibly add to it. At least I'd be able to give feedback to problems and have someone on the other end
    actually listen.

    Hard reset EVERY day...

    Here's some interesting information---

At the top of this page you'll see my complaint about experiencing this issue 3 times in one day... that was yesterday, right after the march update. So I was very fed up, and I actually contacted my local Microsoft Store and explained the issue. My console
was still under warranty, so I exchanged it for another one, which was surprisingly easy and convenient to arrange.

ANYWAYS... So I go home with a different Xbox entirely, set it up, begin re-installing games, and everything seems ship shape for about 24 hours. THEN, the same exact error described in this thread started happening again... I'm astounded.

As far as I can see, what this means is that it's not an issue with the Xbox itself, but some other component of our setups. With that said, I can't imagine it's the TV, I doubt it's the power brick or the Kinect (both of which are from my xbox before I
exchanged). I can only imagine that it's our internet connections.

I mean, it always happens in Instant On mode, where the console is constantly connected to the internet. It's possible that some glitch occurs as the console communicates with our modems/routers during periods of time where it's in standby..Maybe this glitch
    only occurs with certain routers/modems?

I find it incredibly unlikely that I would exchange for another Xbox that would ALSO happen have this rare issue, so I don't think it's the Xbox itself. Thoughts??

If anyone wants to compare internet specs to try and get to the bottom of this, post them to this forum.

I'm using an ARRIS Modem model CM550A, and a Netgear Router model N600.

If it's not the internet connection, then I don't know what it is... I could go a few weeks without Kinect and see if that does anything at all.

Quick question: does everyone experiencing this issue have Kinect? If anyone can confirm that this issue is occurring without kinect, that would help a lot with the process of elimination.

Hard reset and factory reset do me little to no good. When starting 90 percent of apps and games I get the splash screen for a long time and then the message comes up that the thing "took too long to start" and it boots me back to the menu.

    Error code 0x8027025a

Finally got Netflix to install, but YouTube will never install. Stays in queued forever.

The XBox is unplayable for the 12 year old because of the failure rate of the loads. We might as well have gotten him coal for Christmas

I believe that I have found the solution. If it happens to be that everyone here is using a power cord. Try plugging the power brick into the wall outlet directly I told my friends to try it and they have not had any problems since. I've been on this for
about 4 weeks without a single reset.

    Hey everyone!

Sincere apologies for the delayed response, I understand the frustration explained by many of you and I would like to reassure each of you that we read every post on our forum. When it comes to the issues in this thread, it looks to me that there are a mix
of different issues. I honestly wish there was an optimal way to address each of these in this one thread, but it would be best if anyone in this thread who are still encountering these issues post a fresh thread for individual support.

Before posting a new thread, here are some troubleshooting steps I would like each of you to go over. I see many of you have suggested or tried some of these steps already, but having them done all in one go will help us get on the same page.

    • Plug HDMI directly into the TV if it isn't already
    • Plug the Xbox One power supply directly into the wall socket, instead of a surge protector
    • Power Cycle the Xbox One console
Again, while the issues each of you are experiencing may be similar, the different is in the details. In your new threads, please be sure mention what specifically causes the issue each of you are experiencing. Thanks!

Add me to the list. I set my xbox to energy saving because of this crap.. It was bothering me very much. I don't mind waiting for it to boot up because when I get home I generally turn it on before I'm ready to play... What's is going to make me angry is
when I go to play a game and I have to install a bunch of updates because my xbox couldn't download updates since it was shut down completely.

Couldn't agree more smahbleh, it's disgraceful to not even acknowledge it, this thread is 5 pages and 70 posts long, so it's not like it's easy to miss, not to mention the many, many other similar threads, all being completely ignored.

Factory reset doesn't work, been there done that. If it was a hardware problem why was it working until the Nov/Dec update? I doubt it would be happening to so many people either.

They need to admit the broke Instant On and fix it.

I have the exact same issue and this is on a recently replaced Xbox One. My first console had the drive noise issue and was swapped out with a new one under warranty. I have no idea what is going on as this has been happening for about a month now.

I too have had the same issue others have had with the wireless controller suddenly losing connection during play. It comes back or reconnects quickly, but disrupts play immensely.

I have all the current updates to both the controller and console current.
