    Hello,

    Are you talking about the latest public update or the Preview update?

    If it is a public update I have once had this issue and reformatting it via PC fixed it* I did lose my installed games*

    If it is the preview update visiting Xbox Insiders might prove helpful

    From what I'm seeing today, the cheapest are 1TB USB 3.0 laptop size drives for approximately $60US. I have used Western Digital 1TB My Passport drives with my Xbox One and One S with no problems. However, the best price per byte right now is the My Passport
    Ultra Metal Edition 2TB Portable Hard Drive on sale at the
    Microsoft Store     and other online sites for about $100US.

    kinda sucks that they didn't make the slim hard drive space compatible with my original xbox 360 hard drive

    Is there a message on the screen like E68? It sounds like a hdd failure. If your console came with the hard drive you have a one year warranty on both console and hdd. If it was bought after the fact, an oem ms hdd has a 90 day warranty. Bit sounds like
