Hard Drive Upgrade Problems

I purchased a new 4tb hard drive and I'm trying to transfer (Move) my existing installed games on a 1tb external hard drive to it. Several games have already successfully transferred (and launch with no issues) but now, the current queue of 8 games give
an error message of "Installation Stopped". There's no console update available to install and a reboot hasn't helped.

Is there anything else I should try?

thanks in advance!

:)

2. Upgrade Hard Drive

Hello Driftking197. I just wanted to confirm that if you use any other hard drive outside of the official ones, it will result in a ban under the Terms of Use:

12. Service Operation and Equipment.

hardware or software associated with the Service or with an original Xbox or Xbox 360 console is strictly prohibited and may result in cancellation of your account and/or your ability to access the Service, and the pursuit of other legal remedies by Microsoft.
Microsoft may take any legal action it deems appropriate against users who violate Microsoft's systems or network security, this contract or any additional terms incorporated or referenced in this contract, and such users may also incur criminal or civil
liability.

Hard Drive Upgrades

So I needed to expand my storage capabilities as I have officially run out of space on my external hard drives and my internal xbox one hard drive.

PLAN A: Purchase a 4TB hard drive and swap out the internal xbox one drive..... Plan A fails. It would appear the xbox does not support an internal 4TB hard drive. Please do correct me if im wrong!?

PLAN B: Use 4TB hard drive as an external drive instead.... Plan B fails. The xbox will not recognize that the hard drive is connected. In the mean time I can connect all 3 of my original external hard drives with no issues. So it also appears the the xbox
does not support a 4TB external drive either. Again please correct me if i am wrong!?

So what i want to know is this. Has anyone else had this problem? How did they get round it? What is the maximum size external/internal drive the xbox can handle?

Upgrading the Hard Drive

Hello CTclothbagco, for maximum quality and stability it is always better to get an official product or replacement. £300 for a 120GB hard drive is very steep indeed. I am sure there are cheaper alternatives, I myself have seen hard drives (60gb or 120gb)
for around £30 - £40.

You could try registering your product and requesting a replacement (if you are out of warranty there will be a fee - but I am sure that it will be much MUCH cheaper than £300 for the HD)
https://myservice.xbox.com

Theres always the option to try Ebay or game shops that sell pre-owned items.

I hope this is helpful for you. My over all advice would be to steer away from unofficial products, they come with more problems then they are worth and they dont support everything on the console smoothly. Thank you.

Upgrade Hard Drive

I' am not completely sure about this but to be on the safe side i would not do that.

One because you could break your xbox.

Two because you may get banned because it could be counted as modifying your xbox.

upgrading hard drive
You can also add as many 32GB flash drives as you want.
Not exactly: you can only connect two USB storage devices to the Xbox 360 at time, regardless of how many USB ports your console has. You can format more flash drives or external HDDs for use on the console and swap them if you like, but only
two devices will be usable at a time.

I need to look at getting a bigger drive as running out room, damn these games that are 50GB in size.
