hard drive unformatted ... any solutions?

Tonight I turn on my system to be greeted with the "your system needs to be updated" prompt! As alwaysI select to apply the update... "There is not enough space on your storage device to apply the update. Please check your device! "wtf" I go to the "System"
block, select "Storage", and to my extreme dismay it says that my HD is UNFORMATTED!

Losing all that data is bad but I had lots of games since launch Now this happens, and so far the only thing we're being told is "you should have saved to the cloud"? REALLY?! Unacceptable! Insulting, and down right infuriating! There's got to be some
other way around this (one corrupt file - if that indeed is what's happening - should not wipe out an entire HDD!)

help please? tried online help desk ... my 11 year old gave better advice!

Format Hard Drive

I'm having issues formatting my hard drive for the xbox 360S. Hard drive keeps showing up "unformatted" so I format the hard drive and nothing happens, Xbox keeps saying that it is unformatted. Any solutions to this problem??

 

Hard drive keeps telling me too format?

The other day i turned on my Xbox 360 and no profiles were found, So i went to settings then memory and it says my hard drive was unformatted. So i entered my serial number and formatted my hard drive. After i did that i restarted my xbox and went back into
memory and it still says unformatted. I repeated the formatting process mutiple times now and it still says unformatted any ideas on how to fix my hard drive???
