Hard drive too small...

Hi,

I recently received a voucher for Xbox live and spent it on a game download.

However it now seems that the game is bigger than both my hard drive AND my memory unit put together - even with everything else I had on there deleted.

The issue I now face is that I have spent my whole voucher on this game and cannot use it without going out and buying a larger memory unit which I cannot afford

Of course had I known how big the game was or even better that it would not fit on my xbox beforehand then I would not have bought it but there was nop mention of this in the purchasing process that I could see.

Is there any way of changing the purchasing process in the future so that game sizes or indeed whether they will fit are displayed
before a user makes a 'non refundable' purchase?

I would also ask is there a possibility of a refund in this case as I had no way of knowing the game size before purchasing the game??

XBOX ONE X

Yes, 1 TB is too small for a console intended for hardcore gamers. The One S was release with a 2 TB hard drive.

 

320 GB hard drive is TOO small

Hey guys this hard drive is not the only issue, my xbox won't play laserdiscs or cassette tapes or even dvd's even though it clearly says nintendo 64 on the front. I called microsoft and all they kept saying you have the wrong number stop calling me.

 

It already does tell you the size of the game before you make a purchase. If you're making the purchase from the website, the size is listed with the description of the item. If you're making the purchase on the console, the size is listed on the pop-up
before you confirm the purchase.

What game is larger than a HDD and memory unit put together? The smallest HDD is 20 gigs... only game that would come close is L.A. Noire and that's not 20 gigs.

 

Actually, the smallest HDD is 4 GB.

 

The 4gb is internal flash memory and not a hard drive.

Well thank you all for the helpful replies, I seriously don't recall seeing any mention of the size of the game until afterwards but I concede that I could also have missed it!

Still, the live service should in some way be able to warn you that it wont fit before you put your cash on the counter, it would be helpful!

My HDD is not 20 gig, its one of the older variants of xbox so was not overly blessed in the storage department, it is as mentioned above, more like 4 gig.

Up until this point I always used to buy games on the disc but with this online credit had to download something and I guess this has kind of caught me out a little.
