    Hard Drive Reformatted


    I turned on my Xbox and everything on it was gone. It said my hard drive was unformatted, so I formatted it and downloaded my profile. I was wondering if there is any way to get my save data back?

    Unfortunately, unless you had it backed up on the cloud or other storage, there is no way to restore save data.

    When you format your hard drive, it will delete everything on it. The Xbox 360 hard drive is used for the Xbox 360, you cannot use it for a PC.

    If you want to have movies on your Xbox, you can download them from the ZUNE marketplace.

    Sadly there is no legit way to get the hard drive working as an xbox hard drive again. I suspect the data transfer cable you used was a third party cable, these are notorious for causing what you have experienced.
