Hard drive problems

so my old Xbox 360 got corupted and can no longer read hard drives or configure them so I got a new one with a smaller hard drive and I am debating on wether or not I could use one of the old ones that I used with the corupted one would it mess up the new
one or would it work

Hard drive problem

For the past few months my hard drive would just crash on my xbox while playing games. Recently it has happened more often. I have a SATA 1.0TB hard drive. Is there a certain setting that's causing the problem or is it the hard drive itself. I have a lot of storage on their that I would hate to lose. I'm sure its not an overheating problem because I would turn the hard drive on for the first time that day and it would crash in the first few minute. Please help if you can, its annoying the crap out of me.

External hard drive problems

do you have that box checked that says "turn off external devices on standby" or something like that? That might be the issue.

Your...360 got corrupted? That doesn't even make any sense. In any case, if you have a new console and want your old stuff, get an HDD transfer kit from Microsoft to transfer all of your content. Don't forget to do a license transfer as well, so you can
use your stuff offline.

Hi there,

if your old hard drives are from the same type as the one from your console console then they should work.

A official Xbox 360 hard drive from the Slim consoles will fit inside the E consoles, but the origial xbox 360 console hard drives, will not fit in/on the Slim or E consoles

I just wanted to add that if you were using the older hard drives then you will need a transfer kit for the new hard drive as Irixion has stated. Just make sure you get an official Xbox transfer kit and not a 3rd party one. 3rd party transfer kits are
not covered by Xbox and any issues caused by them will not be covered. 3rd party kits have been known to muck up all drives that they are used with.

Ownage is correct, thats the main reason you always see the warning telling you not to turn off the game when you see the saving icon. It's doesnt even have to be your fault either. I've been unlucky enough a few times to have a game freeze while saving
manually or when triggering an autosave spot.

Go to the console where you transfered the app's, games, profile's. download your xbox live profile to the console where the data was transfered. If your doing this right it will prompt you to enter ur microsoft email and password
