    Hard Drive not working on LIVE.


    Hello. I Just buy a new xbox 360 E 4GB and everything is fine until a put a HARD DRIVE from my old xbox 360 s 250GB.

    When i put the drive, my console just CAN`T connet with LIve, always say cannot download a update at this time.

    If a take de HD off, everyhing is fine.

    What should i do?

    Hello,

    If this hard drive was just purchased newly, you might want to consider returning the hard drive to the retailer where you purchased it and exchanging it for a new one. That is not normal for a new hard drive to do. Are you 100% sure that it was a new hard
    drive in Microsoft official packaging or was it a off brand/3rd party hard drive? This sort of activity happens normally with cheaply made 3rd party fake/knock off hard drives.

    a month or so ago i bought a hard drive for me xbox slim because i was running out of room. it wasnt working at first and it started to make me mad so i just left its be. my issue was every time i tried to transfer anything to my new hard drive i would get
    the loading screen then nothing would happen n my xbox would restart...i even tried saving my game to the hard drive and all it would do would restart my xbox. what can i do...i bought the correct hard drive for my xbox slim but it just wont work. restarts

    I bought a HDD for my 360 4 Gb and have the same issue and my xbox now takes forever to boot up! I tried trouble shooting with support but they are clueless. I would say my HDD is bad but it was brand new from bestbuy on line. Any one plz help?

    You can try clearing the system cache. settings > hard drive

    Downloading Profile

    Try taking your hard drive out and downloading your profile to a USB. If the above method works, there may be an issue with your hard drive, and not Xbox Live. In this event, back up your hard drive immediately, and seek a repair or a replacement hard drive.

    Well, if the games work without the hard drive (like the guide suggests) then it would be a hard drive issue. If the game isn't working with the hard drive out then it's not a hard drive issue. As far as your ability to replace the disc drive yourself, that's
    not something we can discuss with you and we encourage you not to do that as it can actually get your console banned from LIVE for 3rd party replacement parts/tampering.

    Xbox 360 can't connect to live

    For some reason i was able to connect to live while using a hard drive that barely worked 2 years ago but works fine now. So i guess if i move all the files from the other hard drive then everything will work!
