Hard Drive Not Showing Files On Xbox One S

So I've been using my 3TB external to watch videos on my One S for a while now but it suddenly doesn't show files anymore. I used VLC, Kodi and the native Media Player and they all indicate that a drive has been plugged in but show no files. When I check under storage settings it shows that there's 0GB free even though there's actually 500GB free. The external works fine on my laptop but as of today it's somehow no longer showing files on the One S, even though it notifies me that it's ready for use whenever I connect it. I have tried to connect it to different ports on the console, restarted the console multiple times, did a power cycle, deleted and reinstalled the media apps and I even reset the console but there have been no changes.

Has anyone experienced this issue? I would love some assistance in resolving it because I can't watch any high-res media on my laptop, it's a potato.

So I downloaded a game from marketplace to my flashdrive, now how do I play it from my flashdrive?

I looked under games and the only ones that show up are the ones on my hard drive not the ones on my flash drive. I have the 4gb S xbox could that be affecting it?

Is there a limit to number of files on HDD with XBOX One

The only thing I can think of is if the hard drive is formatted a certain way, it may not show files above 4 GB. If you can, plug the hard drive into a computer and find a specific file above that limit and see if it shows up on the Xbox.

    Phone to xbox one

In short you can't. The Xbox One hard drive can not receive files from other devices. If you have video's or music you want the console to play, you'll need to transfer the file/s to a USB Flash drive first and then insert this into your console.

Xbox 360 was recognizing Hard Drive, now it isnt showing up?

Yes, every other Hard Drive I plug into my Xbox shows up. The one that doesnt show up, when I plug it into my computer it says its file system is 'NTFS'?

Have you consider the alternative to format your Xbox 360's hard drive?

Remember to save your progress/game save files to USB drive.
