hard drive not recongnised

after formatting my 360 hard drive the xbox will not recongnise it anymore ,any ideas why this is ,thanks

120GB hard drive not read as hard drive

As I scan the internet I'm finding others who have had the same luck as me. I can post links if necessary but not sure what it will solve. Microsoft must see the community as clueless.

120GB hard drive not read as hard drive

I just upgraded my very old xbox with 20gb hard drive to an elite with 120gb hard drive.

I have an official Microsoft transfer cable.

I followed the instructions for data transfer from the old hard drive to the new. Nothing ever appeared on my screen when I plugged the old hard drive in to the xbox!! I rebooted the xbox mulitple times, plugged the 20gb hard drive in multiple ways but nothing
happened.

Next I went to the storage settings and found I could perform a transfer that way. Unfortunately my xbox 20gb drive was showing as having nothing on it!

I swapped the 120gb drive for the 20 and reset the system. Now the 20gb drive content was showing up. It was the 120 which was not showing as formatted. I prepared the drive as "an xbox drive" using the xbox and then transferred the content.

Next I put the 120gb hard drive on the xbox and it was completely unreadable!! I plugged it back into the USB cable and all my account information showed up.

What am I suppose to do now?
