hard drive memory problems

in the list of storage devices on my 360, it detects the hard drive n even shows that the memory is over half full, but when i select it, it says 0 KB for everything... does anyone have any suggestions? i know formatting would probably help, but i'd rather
not do that til i've tried everything else

Can I Install Games on a USB?

I'm sorry you're having problems with your game, unfortunately Oblivion requires a hard drive to install the DLC. It won't work from a flash drive or your 360's internal storage. Your 4GB consoles storage is flash memory, it's not a hard drive. Oblivion
is an old game, it does not recognise dlc on memory units, only hard drives.

XBOX 360 Hard Drive Question

When I go into Memory it is reading the Memory Unit & not the Hard Drive. There is a Hard Drive on the 360 but how can I see the Hard Drive & not the Memory Unit ?

Buy a relatively large usb, move all items to it , and format the hdd. Lol Not what you wanted to hear but probably the solution.

I got a usb and tried to transfer all items onto it, but since it's not registering the items (over 70GB) when I go into the hdd, it didn't actually transfer anything.

Hmm, I know it sucks but all may be lost if you cant transfer stuff.

nevermind problem solved. for anyone that is having the same problem just go to your hard-drive/memory unit and manually delete "Netflix" from your hard-drive/memory unit (though some things might not be delete-able).

In a related problem with some arcade games, I discovered that one game - Pacman - installed on my memory unit, asks for an update when the hard drive is inserted. However it does not perform the update but gives a -0185 problem error. When removing the
hard drive, the console and Pacman game start up without asking for an update and is playable. No other Arcade games installed on the memory unit seem to have this issue with the hard drive inserted.

When trying to download Assassin's Creed II onto the memory unit (without the hard drive inserted) it does restart download but because the memory unit has only 4 Gb it then notifies me that the device is full. Once the hard drive is re-inserted, it simply
breaks off download on the hard drive claming it's already downloaded.

Oddly enough, on the hard drive itself all installed games update and play without a problem. No corrupted or disappeared files can be found, .... Maybe there's a bad sector on the hard drive?
