    Hard drive issue for Xbox 360


    I am having problems with my XBOX 360. It is not recognizing my hard drive, not showing games I've downloaded, and has missing profiles. What can I do to remedy this issue. My grand daughter will be devastated if her avatar is not still on the Xbox.

    Only thing I can suggest is to make sure that you're putting in the right number. Although if you bought it off of a friend, I doubt it has any warranty left on it.

    Hello,

    Last week I bought XBOX 360 250 GB hard drive. When I put it into console it won't be avaible in Settings. I try to reconnect it and done everything I found in Microsoft support pages. I believe that it is stil on quarantee. How can I send it to be repaired?
    I cannot add it to my devices to my devices in
    https://myservice.xbox.com     because serial number is too long. What should I do now to make it work?

    Hi there,

    please see the following support page regarding hard drive issues, it will have some steps to try and solve the issues.

    Keep in mind that if the hard drive is failing anything on that drive may be lost, depending if the profiles are connected to an email address (and the account credentials are known), they can be redownloaded from Xbox Live.

    Hey BioZombie,

    Is this an official Xbox 360 hard drive you are using? Not a 3rd party accessory? It's possible there may be an issue with your hard drive.

    Are you able to try a different Xbox 360 hard drive? A friends perhaps? This will help determine where the issue is.

    Original Xbox games need a hard drive, It's not storage space this is the issue here. Original Xbox games load on the 360 via a software emulator, this emulator is only available via an Xbox 360 hard drive. Don't fall for the mistake of buying a cheap
    hard drive from eBay or similar, these drives are fake and are missing the emulation software. The hard drive must be an official one.
