    Hard drive is showing problems with xbox one s


    My hard drive will show formating option when plugged in, doesn't show up and when I format it slows my xbox down. Causes apps not to run because they take too long to run. I try to check setting, storage and it freezes. This hard drive use to work fine
    on my old xbox one, (which I sold) I re-partition for pc then got the xbox one s. I bought a new wire but nothing is changing. I've tried nearly everything I can find, restarting my xbox, changing ports, checking the partition on pc (it give options NTFS or
    exFAT) etc.

    So I downloaded a game from marketplace to my flashdrive, now how do I play it from my flashdrive?

    I looked under games and the only ones that show up are the ones on my hard drive not the ones on my flash drive. I have the 4gb S xbox could that be affecting it?

    Do you still have your Xbox One and does your external hard drive still work on that console?

    I have successfully connected both my Seagate 'Game Drive' and my external SSD USB 3.0 drives to my Series S without any problems. All my installed games show up fine.

    The Series X/S supports the same external drives as the Xbox One/S/X support. If your drive isn't being detected it's probably become corrupted or has a hardware issue.

    The 4g Xbox doesn't have a hard drive. It's flash memory... it shows up as memory unit, not a hard drive. So yes, you absolutely can add a hard drive. Just purchase the HDD for the S model and pop off the cover and slip it in.
