    My hard drive failed on my xbox one, how do i get the os back on a new hard drive?

    So I got the 320gb starwars ed. xbox. Recently its taking a while for it to load from the xbox 360 logo screen to dashboard. Found somewhere on the forum that maybe it's due to the drive. I've tried following the steps it gives but it doesn't help. All
    my apps, and profiles are gone. I can't download my profile or any other app or update for some games I'm trying to play it tells me it can't be downloaded. I've cleared the cache, reset the network settings, reseated the hard drive, even have tried putting
    it on my other 4gb xbox but I get same problem. The drive itself says it has 294gb capacity and it shows it has about 42gb of used space which is all my apps, game data, etc. but when I try to access it, all the categories are at 0kb. Does this mean the drive
    is bad and I need a new one? Will reformating it help? Even if it means losing some of my game data! If I need new drive will it be posible to transfer the data to new drive? I need answers a.s.a.p.! please help.

    Hard drive failure?

    Seems like a harddrive failure to me. Try removing the harddrive from your system and reinstall it.

    You could also try to reformat it, but if it's broken, the error will return shortly.

    If all those options won't work, contact Xbox Support to get it replaced.

    I'm curious, what symptoms are you seeing that lead you to think that the hard drive has fail? Power light is ON but no video, Error code, etc...?

    If something has gone wrong on the hard drive, you might be able to do a manual system update and resurrect your Xbox with
    OSU1 download. The software and step-by-step instructions for "I need help with system updates on my Xbox One" are located at the following URL, support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/console/system-updates-solution
    . Also, Xbox Ambassadors "Scratch" has some good videos on how to use OSU1, do a Factory Reset and reinstall your games and apps on your Xbox, www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfH2M9GRzm8 , www.youtube.com/watch?v=FI_KsV-ir_Y .

    However, if the hard drive and or something else has physical failed in your Xbox, you will most likely have to get contact Xbox Support at, support.xbox.com/en-US/my-account/warranty-and-service/getting-your-product-serviced , to get it repaired.

    I have the some problem! when my xbox 360 slim hard drive is connected, my xbox seems to have a slight lag, and i can't update or recover gamertag. and it freeze at startup screen for 2 min before getting to the dashboard. does xbox fix hard drive? or can

    This does sound like a either harddrive failure, or there is a corrupt file on it. I'd recommend formatting it. If you have a memory stick, transfer all files on to that and then do it.
