    Hard drive don't format on Xbox one x any advice ?


    I've tried formatting a 2tb external harddrive to my one X I've gone through all the prompts of naming the device a and selecting to save new game to the new device ect, when the final box closes there
    is no hard drive showing on the console even after 20 mins tried all the usual resets and suggesetions everything lokks fine until the last part where it just doesn't format

    Yeah its an unbranded one bought from ebay from a reputable seller ii think the problem may be with it only formatting in exFAT as it has no issue formatting to exFAT but it ont format to NTFS if its possible to fix this so it will work with xbox ?

    Will give this a try now but it does eveything it looks like it does vrings uo all the forrect prompts and can be formatted to exFAT but ill give this a shot am i correct in thinking it should not take too long to do on a laptop ?

    Hi,

    If the drive is fully working I see no reason why you couldn't format it to NTFS. The easiest way would be to connect the drive to a PC/Laptop running Windows 10. Right click on the Windows 10
    START button and select Disk Management.

    Find your drive in the list and format it to NTFS.
