    Hard Drive diagnosing tools


    Hey fellas,

    I'm suspecting that my issues with the latest update can be related to hard drive problems.

    Are there any tools I can use, on the console itself, to find out if the hard drive is healthy.

    I don't have an external SATA adapter to plug the drive, nor do I have a PC case with a spare SATA, hence my asking for something on the console.

    The only ways to take care of your hard disc through your console are described in this support link:

    support.xbox.com/.../hard-drive

    Sometimes the disc needs to be formatted if there are corrupt data that impede its normal usage.

    It could be a Faulty Cable or Drive but when issues like this happen they can be hard to fully diagnoses

    I actually diagnosed the problem, it was a corrupted hard drive. Do you know what I could do to fix it?

    External hard drive missing after update

    Try plugging your hard drive into your PC to make sure it is recognized on there as well. If not, then download the hard drive tools from the manufacturer website to check to see if the hard drive has any issues which the tools may be able to fix.
