Hard drive content missing.

In the middle of playing a game my system froze, so i restarted my system only to find it running much much slower than it usually/should be. When i went to my system memory to go move a file i found that my hard drive had no content files or memory in it.
And it still shows that the space in it that was used up is still used but nothing is there. I'm missing games and file saves i worked so hard for. How do i fix it?

Flash drive content missing

I have purchased and downloaded cod 2 map packs to my flash drive, but every morning the content is missing and I have to redownload it again. I have configured the flash drive multiple times. In fact every morning when my content is missing the Xbox asks
me to reconfigure it. I only have the 4gb hard drive so there isn't room to put the stuff on my console. How do I make this content stay on my flash drive?

hmm.... whats missing here....

I recently lost my internet connection due to inability to pay in a broke society..... i tried to go to my library and get connected there to re update some of my missing content and believe me i got a lot of missing content is there another way for me to
download my content without having to have my xbox.... i mean hell i got over 400gb in flash drives and a 500gb flash drive hard drive(asus G73)

Freezing and slowing down it's sign of errors in hard drive. Seems your console's hard drive needs formatting.

How to format a storage device

When you format a storage device, all of the information saved on that device is erased and cannot be recovered. Make sure that you either do not want the information stored on that device or have backed up the information to another device before you continue.

To format a storage device

Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.

Select Storage or Memory.

Select the storage device that you want to format, and then press Y on your controller.

Select Format. You will see the following message:

This will delete all content on this device. Do you wish to continue?

Select Yes to format the storage device.

So since this first hard drive was format to 16gb using the 3rd party adapter there is no way to make it a 120gb drive again using the console format tool? Or am I miss understanding?

CpCk you should not use that adapter instead, use a USB stick to move the content from one hard drive to the next.

Things to know before you transfer content

Warning

Before you use the Xbox 360 Hard Drive Transfer Kit, please read the user's guide included with the kit.

You can move all content from one Xbox 360 Hard Drive (referred to as the "source hard drive") to another Xbox 360 Hard Drive (referred to as the "destination hard drive"). The content from the source hard drive overwrites the content on the destination
hard drive.

Once the transfer is complete, the original content on the destination hard drive is replaced with all the content from the source hard drive and the content on the source hard drive is erased.

Movie rentals

Movies you have rented on the source hard drive will not be available after the transfer. Make sure to watch all Zune movie rentals before you use the Hard Drive Transfer Kit.

Using the Hard Drive Transfer Kit

Warning With any transfer, there is a slight risk that some or all of your content might be lost during the process. Microsoft is not liable for any loss of content that results from the transfer process.

Only one hard drive can be connected to your Xbox 360 console at a time. The transfer cable cannot be used to connect multiple hard drives to your console at the same time.
