10gigs from the disk 70gigs from the net plus all the patches till now

And yes it's that big of a game and that was launch size as the others mentioned it's gotten ALOT bigger since launch

You have to remember it's also queuing day 1 content

1 a bluray without protection is only 50 gigs max 75-100gigs with protection (cartiage rather then just a plain disk)

Hence the need for a download it's pretty hard to get a multiple disk game since it can be done from the net anyways

Well no but not for the reasons you think

Modern games don't fit on a single disk you have some stuff to install from the Activision servers

You will be hard pressed to find a game that doesn't require you to do an internet install to install the game

The game can only install upto what the size of the disk has

But the rest of it would.be from thw net

Fyi games include a lot of cgi scenes which do take a lot of room

Some disks are just place holder and it would pull the install files from the net 2019 mw 2 comes to mind

You aren't going to get far if you domt connect to the net

Unless you buy older consoles and games

Pre bluray games like 2009 I think I could be wrong on the date but then you would run into multi disk games

Which is not normal since we switched to bluray

But now games have to be installed from the inteenet

Just unplug your system from the net and download the game from the disk first, then install the patch/update from the net. took me around 30-40 minutes total.

They could have made it a win/win for everyone... but they didnt..

Such an easy solution...

All games installed on HDD... When a game starts, it check Disc Drive for the original disk.. If not there, then it Pings a check in... Then you can play & change games all you want disk free.... If your net goes out, or cant connect in, for whatever
reason.. Just put the disk in drive and when game starts it'll detect the original disk and wont req the check in to play...

If you keep it plugged in, you can play disk free, family share, etc, etc... If you cant or dont want to connect in.. you just need the disk..

How friggin hard is that to figure out..... Wouldnt that make about everyone happy on the DRm issue???
