Harassment from Gamer making Actionable Death Threats

I have been a part of the Xbox Live family since the original Xbox which was my very first system. In recent weeks a gamer has been saying derogatory terms and phrases to me in party chat, with no provocation . I joined my cousins party and he instantly
went on a rant; “I can kick the [Mod Removed – Profanity] out of everyone in your house in UFC 2”.

I didn’t say anything and just talked to my cousin he then calls me “[Mod Removed – Profanity], and
[Mod Removed – Profanity] because I wouldn’t play him.

It had escalated after I blocked him as he went to another gamertag joined the party and continued. It escalated even further when he searched my gamertag on Facebook and stole my profile pictures for crude and inappropriate memes.

I confronted him about it and he simply said “I will kill you in your own house and if you come at me I have people that will kill you.” He also had some of his friends pile on as well.

I reported him multiple times, blocked him again and now I am here.

He took down his Facebook before I had a chance to screenshot his information. He does live close to my location and I am infuriated and concerned because I take care of my grandfather who has disabilities and my sister who suffers from autism.

This is literally my first experience with anything of this severity on Xbox Live and in general. I did nothing to provoke his actions and he still sends messages from throw away accounts.

I do not know post on any forums too often so I do not know if I can post his gamertag and not break the rules. I am also afraid that this post may pop up in a google search. I’ve left messages on the instagram of Xbox and XboxAmbassadors as well.

Any help will be GREATLY appreciated

Phil Fish gets screwed over... and not the good kind

Gamers are assholes. Phil Fish wasn't a nice guy, kind of a dick. But whatever, its not like he ever did anything to anyone besides insult them. What these guys did is fucking despicable. The gaming community in general sucks, like when they harassed that Bioware writer with death threats until she feared for her life enough to quit the studio.

 

xbox live ...whats been your worst experience with the service ?

Killing each other in a game & making actual death threats are completely different things.

You'd get banned from xbox live for doing the same thing.

 

You are right not to post this persons gamertag as that would violate forum rules.

All you can do is report this person via your console & set communications to friends only if need be.That way only people you have on your friends list can communicate with you.

If someone is making threats like that then you need to contact your local police.

 

I did alert local law enforcement after the verbal death threats were made and I had little information to give other than a general location in my immediate area, his Facebook moniker (which he deactivated) and all of the threatening messages from his accounts; which
XBL won’t allow me to report for some reason.

I mainly want his main account or his Xbox One barred from connecting to XBL permanently. No one should have to deal with threats of any magnitude or be subject to any persecution because they don’t want to play a specific game.

I reported him multiple times on New Years Day, and once today; I am reporting once for each threat that was made toward me and my family. I do not know if my reports on XBL will add up, or if one report is only processed from my
GT but I will have faith in the Xbox Enforcement Team.
