Happy Wars Not-So Cross-Platform Compatible?

Okay, so Happy Wars for the Xbox One has been advertised as a cross-platform title in the sense that you can play with other players on the Xbox 360. That sounds cool and all, but it had me wondering. If I'm using the Xbox One edition and my friend is using
the Xbox 360 edition, how are we going to communicate via in-game chat if voice recognition isn't compatible between the 2 consoles? My guess is we simply won't be able to, but if that's the case, then it seems to me like it would not be such a great experience
anymore. What do you guys think?

Actually Happy Wars had announced they will be having cross platform play when it comes to the Xbox One.

What would you do for your 360 arcade games to come to xb1?

Speaking of which, I can't wait until Happy Wars makes the transition; it's already been announced (although I'm not sure when) and is supposed to support cross-platform play (between XB1, X360, and potentially the PC as well).

 

Maybe it will be 360 vs One gamers....

But true,it might be a big issue (and disapointment) for people who wants to play with their friends (cross platform)

When do people communicate in games anyway, other than party chat virtually nobody actually uses the in game chat to strategize.

 

I use it all of the time Shaggy. In fact, it's the primary way I make friends. Even if they're not talking, you'd be surprised at how often they listen. Once I show them how much of a tactical team player I am, many of them throw friend requests/follows
my way.

 

Or they muted you because your talking was annoying but you were a good player...

 

Microsoft has said if you play a game you cant play the multiplayer version between Xbox 360 and Xbox 1. Mainly cuz Xbox 1 has different AUDIO CODEC TECH (which is also why no party chat and no voice messaging between the two gens) and Xbox 1 uses DIFFERENT
Xbox Live servers to that on 360 aka 360 has 15,000 servers world wide and 1 has 300,000 Azure servers worldwide. Cant wait til it comes out. 2 of my friends r crazy about the game.

 

Smileskybird, I already know about all of the audio and server-side stuff, but if you can't have Xbox One players and Xbox 360 players playing together in Happy Wars, doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of it being "cross-platform" a little bit?

 

it could mean cross platform as your stats come over to the one version.

 

I already know that stats will carry over, Farscape, but if that's what they mean by cross-platform, then I think it's very misleading...

 

The official website specifically says "Happy Wars [on the Xbox One] will also support cross-platform matchmaking with Xbox 360..."

 

In the Q&A ,they answered everything but no question (or answer) about in game chat between both platform....

I would like to know too how they would unless they made a mistake. Microsoft who manages Xbox imply you can't play a game for 360 and 1 multiplayer wise cuz 1 and 360 use different XBL servers, and Xbox 1 has different audio codec tech to 360 so how chat
and multiplayer with peps on 360 and 1 is a puzzle. It's kind of like if the Minecraft game devs said you can play with each other no matter what Xbox version you have 1 and 360.
