Played it all morning and while I do think it's a fun game, I was actually kind of let down, for multiple reasons. First, after having played it briefly on the 360, I know it's better with friends, so I invited everybody that was online this morning figuring
somebody else had to have it too. Out of 40+ friends, nobody came at all and only ONE person even responded as far as I can recall (thanks BTW, SSB). So, there I was, without anyone to effectively communicate or have fun with. Being a team game, this was a
big let down IMO. Furthermore, the matchmaking times to get into a match are horrendous. Without fail, I would sit there for 10-20 minutes just for a match to start watching as people would constantly join and leave again in the lobby. Even worse, the matches
only lasted about half of that time (5-10 minutes). IMO, a game where you have to wait for twice as long as you play it, is not exactly fun. That being said, assuming I don't randomly get disconnected by a weird communication error message (probably what SSB
was talking about) and actually eventually get into the game, it IS fun.

Still, it's free, so that's always a plus - I'm kind of surprised more people haven't picked up and tried the game yet for that simple fact alone.

What's really cool about the game though is the simplicity of it. It's got a great tutorial setup for new players that includes actual interactive gameplay via a mock match. If that's not really your speed, you can also watch videos about various aspects
of the game or read about it them in the help menu. Another aspect that's rather simple is the gameplay. Controls are a breeze and incredibly easy to use and intuitive. The class system is rather simple too, with only 3 classes - Warrior, Cleric, and Mage.
The Warrior is the melee specialist, the Cleric is the healer and siege expert, and the Mage is the ranged specialist.

Despite the game's simplicity, it's customization system is pretty complex, in a good way. There's a large variety of items you can unlock and use between your 3 classes that include a weapon, a shield, armor, a helmet, and an accessory - all of which can
be leveled up or equipped with different abilities. You can even use older, weaker items to improve other existing items too. Because of this, it virtually guarantees that your abilities and items, after a short time playing, will be entirely different from
    anyone elses.

...and yes, the graphics are cute - I kind of like to look at it as a family/kid-friendly version of League of Legends or Smite and with its simplistic nature, which makes it far more accessible for most players as a result.

Matchmaking wasn't bad for me, only took 3 minutes or so. I completed a FULL multiplayer Co-op mode game where you and others fight against AI. That communication error is a bit sad, but nothing a Game Update can't fix and I still managed to get 6 kills,
it would have been a lot more without the communication error. I also got spammed with achievements while waiting in the lobby and after finishing the game. Try Co-op lobbies. Believe me, they're faster to get into. 80% of my friends are stuck on 360. And
there is much more people on Xbox 360 than there is on Xbox 1. There were no chatty people in my co-op game which I find odd... well I'm so use to 360. And you can use Kinect for game chat (not like COD AW). I've never used the mic which came with my console
because I love the things Xbox 1's Kinect can do. My favourite multiplayer Xbox 1 game would be Forza Horizon 2. Overall I give the game a good rating. The communication error needs fixing though. I moved like a sick hippo in the game, I did get occasional
belts of being able to run, but that was only for a few seconds. I did a Youtube video of it, it's 21 minutes 23 seconds long titled Happy Wars Xbox One. I love having Ultra Fibre internet, only took minutes not hours, to upload.

Yeah, been able to complete 3 out of 14 games so far, not counting disconnects at lobby screens. Fun for the 3 though.

Weird..I'm in the UK and haven't had any online issues whatsoever yet? Just been playing quick match.

Lobbies fill up quickly too..in fact a little too quickly! I'm sorting out my gear and before i've finished get a warning the games about to start!

My favorite thing about this is the customization, just like PvZ theres so many crazy / weird combinations - i'm currently using a 'dead newt' for a sword on my warrior!

That's because you don't have the presence of mind or courtesy to check what the people on your friends list are doing and just spam everyone on your list.

Little basic XBox LIVE Etiquette for you:

    - If your friends aren't playing the same game as you send a message asking them if they'd care to join you.

    - Your friends watching NETFLIX or AMAZON INSTANT VIDEO are probably in the middle of a show or film and so it's a better idea not to disturb them.

When you do these things you are essentially inflicting "chip damage" to the relationship you have with these people on your list.

As a keen fighting game player you will be very familiar with not only the effect of "chip damage" but the ultimate consequences of it on a low health bar.

The secret to a Happy War is Happy Friends.

Played it on the 360 and had fun. Will give it a try again on the One for sure (for those boring Sundays when you have nothing else to do) Happy Wars is better than I thought it would be.. :D

  9. Azrael, I don't want to delve too deep into this because it'll drag the thread off-topic (in other words, PM me with your reply, if you have one), but why should I do all of that when it's easier to just send the invite and let you decide to ignore it or
    not?

Sure, I could be nice about it and check 1st to see if anyone is playing it, but depending on the game (in this case, Happy Wars), not many people on my friends list may be playing it, if at all. If nobody's playing it, does that mean I shouldn't bother
inviting anyone or simply decide to not play the game at all? No, it shouldn't - that would dictate which games I play based upon how popular a game is, not necessarily whether or not I would want to play it. That would severely limit which games I play, and
that for me, is not a good idea.

As for sending them a message as to whether they would like to play or not, it is courteous, in a sense, but I could also argue that it's far more intrusive - if I send you an invite, you can ignore it since it goes away in about 3 seconds, but a message?
You'll have to take the time to actually open it up and read it, which takes you away from whatever it is you're currently doing - hence being more intrusive and even potentially rude, depending on how you look at it. Add to that the fact that I am limited
to only sending a message to 32 people at a time and often have more friends than that online at any given time, means I would have to waste time to re-write the message multiple times (and removes any personable aspect to the message automatically, such as
referring to you by name - "hey, Azrael, would you like to play Happy Wars with me?" would not be a message I could send in this case). Furthermore, if I do do this, it would fill up my message queue with my own repeated message, showing an individual message
for all 32+ people that I sent the same exact message to - I don't want to see that over and over again every time I want friends to play with me. That's ludicrous! And I'm relatively sure you don't want to see persistant messages from me asking for you to
    join me either...

Invites are much simpler for everyone involved, since it's quick to send and easy to ignore, so that's what I'm going to stick to. If I do anything else at all, I'd simply post onto my activity feed asking if anyone wants to play a specific game - that way,
if they see it, they can message me back or join me if they have a passing interest at the time.

It's things like this that are why I wish they would bring back, and expand upon, the beacons system from the Xbox 360 console.

As for people who use the video-based apps or watch television, those that don't want to be disturbed will already have their own settings setup so my invites/messages/activity alerts don't disturb them in the 1st place.

No offense, Azrael, but in the name of common courtesy, you made a poor argument.

I just removed you from my friends list so it won't be an issue anymore.

Anyone know if it is possible to get Happy Tickets without spending real money?

  11. Well, that's a bit extreme, I think, since you're inevitably going to get invites from other people eventually anyways AND because you have tools at your disposal to deal with said pop-ups that you apparently don't know about or care to use, but hey, let's
defy logic and take the extreme course of action 1st, because hey, let's face it - it's only destroying a friendship in the process.

I don't think I'll ever understand why people get upset when someone on an online social gaming service tries to be social, friendly, and play games with others... *SMH*

You may not like it, but you know I'm right...

Don't want to be my friend, then fine, that's your choice. After all, you never played with me in the 1st place, and what's the point of having you on my friends list if you never socialize or play games with me? Heck, I don't think you've ever even sent
me an invite or a message (that I can recall, anyways). At least I'm trying here...

...and not giving up, like a certain someone that I know.

BTW, whatever happened to PMing me, huh? Happy Wars is better than I thought it would be.. :p

Oh, and you CAN get tickets without having to buy it with real money. Enjoy Happy Wars, because lord knows, I'm no longer happy due to how you're illogically dealing with this relatively minor, and easily avoided, issue explained above in the last 2 posts
of mine - thanks for that...

  13. Happy Wars is better than I thought it would be..

Sending invites and messages is a perfectly normal activity for Xbox Live and anyone who says otherwise is simply anti-social. I'm an active user - that's all. And I don't spam. The amount of invites and messages I send are a normal, healthy amount. The
only reason you may seem to see more from me than some other people is because playing on Xbox Live is a primary form of entertainment for me - I'm on it every single day, unlike some people. Those of you who don't get on daily may have a few messages from
me waiting for you by the time you get back on, sure, but that doesn't make me a spammer. Besides, without invites, how else am I going to get friends to play the games that I would like to play, huh? You mind telling me that?

I KNOW I am right - I KNOW this because XBL has agreed with me for YEARS. I've NEVER been suspended for spam. If I had been doing something wrong, that would have happened a long time ago. It hasn't.

You can disagree with me all you want due to your personal preferences - that doesn't make you right or change the facts.

I'm done with this conversation. If you aren't, then I implore you (yet again) to PM me; we're off-topic enough as it is.

Googled how to get Happy Tickets without paying and so far the only way is signing up for an App that gives you points for trying out other apps, downloading stuff, giving your personal info away etc...

Are players who never spend on Happy Tickets at a permanent disadvantage?
