Happy Wars is better than I thought it would be..

Never touched it on 360, so gave it a go yesterday on the Xbox One and it worked its charm on me

Curious what others think?

happy wars is going to be the first free XLA title i thought, but it still looks meh.

happy wars looks good though. here's to hoping for a reason to play xbox.

Why is it free? Is it a gold thing or do they want me to spend real money on in game content?

 

^ You can spend real money on item packs (better gear/ buffs etc..) but I had enough fun with it without spending any moolah

Maybe I'll get bored one day and try it out.

For now I'll help Microsoft understand how I feel about this sort of model by not even bothering to download it.

 

^ I got bored yesterday and tried it out, fully expecting to delete it after a few min's.. 3 hours later I was grinning like a loon as my crazy little warrior was hacking/slashing his way through the enemy / towers / castle

Game has a weird Nintendo like charm to it, with loads of crazy customization and odd little perks

Sure, there's an element of pay to win with the ability to purchase unique high tier items early on, but you can equally earn decent gear just from grinding (which is more rewarding anyway!)

Also, similar to PvZ GW, you probably won't care less about winning or dying, just go forth and have a laugh : )

 

I think I played it once on 360 for a playdate. It's free so I'm going to give it a go on X1. It looks like fun.

 

IT IS! Next gen music. Graphics are better. And... everyone look at my Gamerscore.... it was on 7120 when I woke up now its on 7240 something... that's because achievements you got for this game on 360 get added to your Xbox 1 Achievement list, which means
you can sit down and do nothing while it awards you smilesmilesmile.... just being a bit happy. They don't call it happy wars for nothing. We just got Ultra Fast Cable internet this week, I did a Youtube video of it with my Hauppauge HD PVR2 video. So it should
be up on my Youtube channel in a few hours maybe 2-4 hours time because I live in New Zealand and it's Sunday 10:20 am for me. If your on my friends list or nice, if you want I might give you my channel name. More and more peps are doing lets play videos.

There is one bug. Communication your speed has been limited. I played my first multiplayer co-op match and other players were experience this. Well the game is new to Xbox 1 and Xbox 1 runs on different XBL servers for Xbox 360. Or maybe the game devs can
fix this. Because the 360 version speed does not limit penalty penalty you for this. I was probably playing with Americans since most Australian and NZ peps are like half asleep still. Not everyone is bright and dandy at this time on a Sunday. K bye and enjoy

Azrael, the game is Free (that's what the Xbox 1 Dashboard said when I downloaded it this morning). Is it going to be free for everyone or just for those who have the 360 version. I got the 360 version not long after it came out, and yes... that was Free
for me too. It wasn't part of this GWG promo thingy. Some of my friends were really into this on 360. The game is kind of cute and funny it can sometimes make you rage a little. In my opinion, it's better than Terraria and definitely that Goat Simulator (did
anyone here seriously get that game?...)

 

Played a little this afternoon. Definitely reminds me of PvZ:GW. I'm kind of terrible at it but it's pretty fun especially for a free game.

I just started playing again, then it had an update. After the update on the home screen of the game it said " Regarding the mistaken release of Happy Wars on Xbox One, premium members 7 day pass x 2, Happy stars x 20,000"

Anyone else get this message? I downloaded the game about 2 weeks ago, before it was "released".

 

I got it this morning. Nothing to be worried about. They apologize for their mistake by giving us gifts. I knew nothing about Happy Wars for Xbox 1 being released prematurely. I'm level 30 in the game. Goat Simulator in NZ costs $14, it's not my kind of
thing though. Happy Wars? $0! Minecraft Xbox 1 Edition? $7. Throw better graphics in it and I might get Goat Simulator. I've seen others on here pull fun at the game. But I won't do that cuz I'm not mean.

 

I got that message on Happy Wars as soon as I booted it up today. I figured it was something to do with when it accidentally released and then taken down.
