Happy 2 Year Anniversary Xbox One!

So on my planet it is November 22nd which means the Xbox One has been out 2 years. Everyone can celebrate now!

Of course that also means after 2 years this forum still doesn't tell us what Xbox One games we've played.

Question: Will there be a Halo 2 Anniversary game for the Xbox One? Since next Novemember will be the 10 year Anniversary.

It's not 22 November yet......

That's what I get from Americans. Just kidding. It's Sunday 22 November 8:07 pm in New Zealand time. I totally forgot it was Xbox 1's 2nd bday. Otherwise I would have been the 1st person to say it and then I'd get "no it's still Saturday".

 

This time 2 years ago I was in the city center picking up Dead Rising 3 and Battlefield 4 whilst CoD Ghosts installed.

I had picked my console up at 2am! Ahh. Good times. (Shame about the poop that was CoD)

 

I thought it came out the 23rd?

It's made great strides in the 2 years since release.

 

I went to the midnight launch. EB Games had 27 of it's stores open in New Zealand to do the midnight launch. I remember a queue of 40+ people who went to my EB Games store's midnight launch. There were about 5 EB Games staff we had to wait outside the store
they closed the doors. It was still 12:03 am on the release day, some people said "it's midnight". The store manager said "not by my watch" (he was joking and fun). Leading up to the release night of 12am, the store was open 9pm-11:30pm (their normal trading
hours are 9-5:30) to have a browse around. It was like the only shop open in the CBD. They even packed my console in a free big carry bag and gave us Microsoft gifts like Xbox wrist bands and Xbox necklaces and Xbox stickers which is kwl. Microsoft even autographed
my controller for me aka DAY ONE 2013. I call it autographed because it was officially manufactured onto the controller under the direction of Microsoft. No.... not go to Google Images.....

I agree. Xbox 1 is a lot better since it launched. Here's a list of some of the things they have added, which were NOT included at Launch:

- Dolby 12bit audio support. Launched only with Stereo Uncompressed which sounded tin-eee.

- USB file support. Launched without it.

- External HDD support. Launched without it.

- Voice Messaging, and can be listened and exchanged between both Xbox 1 and Xbox 360 consoles.

- Considerably faster UI. Their new Windows 10 like, UI, released for everyone, not long ago. So it takes roughly 1 second to open up an app.... not 30 seconds like what it was like at Launch. >>Navigation using the controller<<

- Can change the dash background. Make it personal, make it fun, make it your own, yay. Add your own photos from your phone/camera; or google image one and add it to the background. Better than the boring black background.

- Battery indicator for controller.

- Several improvements to the Friends List. At launch, offline friends didn't say WHEN they were last online (eg. 2 hours, 3 days ago). Xbox 360 has always said WHEN my offline friends were last online. I posted feedback about it on the official feedback
site, it got over 92 votes, and 1 or 2 months after posting the feedback idea, they rolled out that Feature so that the UI will tell WHEN offline friends were last online.

 

I actually picked mine up on
DAY 23.

 

Like a nerd I waited outside Gamestop from 5:30 PM until 12 to get it day 1.

 

It's also Xbox 360 ,10. years "anniversary"....

I got something over 7000 hours of playtime on. Xbox one,so far....

 

I picked up someone elses order on day 1, oops,,,,,,,, Anyway, I haven't had a problem in those 2 years. Actually, what exactly was the Day 1 Achievement all about? It's a black square with an xbox logo that only day 1 got? Doesn't matter I guess.

 

My day one achievement is actually unlocked on 21/11/2013? Haha, I can't remember the exact date, but here's to more good times to come on Xbox!

 

I think mine is on the 25th, I didn't actually open the box until 2 or 3 days after buying it. I still have the xbox sticker and the actual box it came in, just checked it and yes it's the 25th.

 

Tzar, the 360 came out 2nd December here so i've got a week left to buy a cake! Lol.
