Go ahead and perform a hard reset and power cycle of
your console. Hold down the power button on the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down and then remove the power cable from the Xbox and the power outlet for about 5 minutes. Then re-connect and turn on the Xbox.

Once your console is powered on, try to sync your controller again. Let us know if that helps! We look forward to hearing back from you.

Hello John,

Thanks for coming to the forums. When you are trying to
sync the controller, are you holding the button in for a few seconds? Try connecting the controller via a USB cable if you have, this will automatically sync the controller.

yes i am pressing it on the controller fro a few seconds, i do not have a usb cable

The enforcement team does not use the forums but there are some 3rd party companies that work with MS to make controllers for all types of users. There are lots of 1 handed gamers out there.

I'd recommend checking out the
Able Gamers community. You can also check out
Microsoft's Gaming for Everyone program.
