Discus and support Hame Sharing Question/Issue in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; First here is what is set up: Xbone X - Set to sons home xbox.     Hame Sharing Question/Issue


    First here is what is set up:

    Xbone X - Set to sons home xbox. Xbone S - Set to my home xbox

    I play on the X with my account, no issues. He plays on S with his account, no issues.

    All games bought via my account but have bought games on sons home xbox (S)

    Now for the problem. He wants to play a Xbone X game on the X with his account. Will not let him, says person you bought needs to sign in. Is that because he is on his "home xbox" and didn't buy the game even though my account is on there? If that is the
    case, standard practice should be to buy any game on his account, on his home xbox (Xbone X)? Then when I sign in on the X to my account, since it is his "home xbox", I get to play, and he will get to as well on the S since he would be signed in to his account?
    That all make sense?

    Just thought since home sharing works for most situations, it would work for all. But if you ever want to play on your home xbox with your account, you need to have purchased the game too. Please confirm.

    If the game was purchased on your account, you would need to set his console as your Home console so you can share the game there. If he purchased the game on his account, he can play it on any console regardless of his Home setting.
