yep so wins and loses are tracked best skill based ranking system ever

 

I don't know if I'd call it the best, but it's definitely up there. I still remember how hard it was to get to the very top (I never did - but I was close). Still, even it was abused back in the day - people would get so high up in the rankings that they
would have a harder time being matched with someone of equal skill, so they would purposefully de-rank to have more people to play against (and affectively make the ranking system broken and harder for lower-ranked players to get higher).

They will also update it....Halo 2 rankin system is the base but they will also makes some changes.

 

I've already got this preordered so I'm not skipping it. I sold my 360 right before Halo 4 came out and I figured Halo 4 might get released on the X1. So glad I didn't go and buy another 360 just to play Halo 4. I'm looking forward to this as I haven't
played Halo 1 or 2 either.

@GG the ranking system goes from 1-44 i believe it is based on win/lose if you win your rank goes up if you lose you go down. also based on skill. I said it was the best because on COD you get put against players who are prestige 10 even though you are just
rank 2. on halo 2 you would be put against people ur rank ur skill

 

N7, I thought it went to 50. In any case, if it's based on win/loss, then that's all they need to manipulate it in the way that I described. They purposefully lose, their rank goes down, as does their alleged skill, and then they can start mopping the floor
with more players who are less skilled and at lower ranks. What I'm getting at is that although it's better than most other ranking systems that I've seen, it's still nowhere near perfect. Any kind of system, including this one, can and will be abused in some
way.

 

Yeah, I saw that gameplay a few days ago. Glorious. And I can't wait to see how Forge will work, Ghostz!

Every game is going to have it's players that abuse the ranking system and unfortunately there's no real way of stopping them, this is why I always like to have a full party for Halo games as abuser can really ruin the fun on Halo
