Halo Wars: Backward Comp question

i really dont wana start all my progress over again with skull hunts and multiplayer ranks. will saving my data to cloud allow me keep my progress or will i havta start all over from scratch???

plus i have limited edition DLCs like vehicle camos and will they be usable on the Xbone?

Backward compatibility

It would be nice to get back into Halo Wars on the Xbox One before the roll-out of Halo Wars 2 this fall. Are you making Halo Wars backwards compatible and if so when? There was also rumor meal of Ensemble Studios disbanding, does this have anything to
do with why we haven't seen backwards compatibility yet?

They must also write the backward compatibility code for each game separately. This process takes some time. They have not stated specifically when Halo Wars will become backwards compatible; however, I suspect that it will be closer to the release of Halo
Wars 2.

 

Evidently, if Halo Wars is backwards compatible with the Xbox One and if you moved your saves to the cloud, it would transfer to your Xbox One when you boot up your game. Multiplayer stats should be already be saved online. Not sure about DLC, some games
have the ability to detect bought DLC.

 

Xbox 1 is still not backward compatible with halo wars yet and they said it would be added in December??

 

^^ No they didn't.

There's been no date or even if Halo Wars will be backwards compatible but it no doubt will at some point with Halo Wars 2 coming out in the future.

 

I think they confirmed it will be Backwards compatible in the near future.

Its shown on the Backwards Compatibility page as "upcoming games coming each month".

I haven't played this game in a long time and am very excited to get back on it.

 

Its on the list, but no set date as to when it will come Hopefully won't be too long though! Never got to finish it the first time around

 

Fair enough,didn't know they had said it would be bc.To be honest I don't pay much attention to backwards compatibility,i've got a 360 to play 360 games on.

As do I, but sometimes it's just far more convenient to play on the console I'm already using.

That convenience quickly evaporates, though, when I cannot play what I want because I get an error telling me "Your saves are still being uploaded on another console."

But to answer the original question, cloud saves will allow you to pick up on Xbox One from where you left off on Xbox 360, and DLC is uncertain as different backwards compatible games handle DLC differently (should be possible, though).
