Halo wars 2 xbox play anywhere doesn't work

so I bought a digital copy of the game Halo Wars 2, which supposed to be a play anywhere game, which I assume means I can play it on my pc with windows 10, yet as redeemed the code, I seem to not be able to play it, why?

Halo Wars 2 Ultimate not unlocking Halo Wars 1 on PC

Hi, I've recently bought a prepaid code for the Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition (marked as a Play Anywhere title). I'm able to install Halo Wars 2 on both my PC and Xbox One, but Halo Wars 1 will only install on my Xbox One and doesn't show in my PC library.
Please can you advise?

Halo Wars 2 trouble

I bought an xbox one that came with a disc copy of halo wars 2 ultimate edition and a digital copy of halo wars definitive edition. On the windows store, it says that I own halo wars definitive edition and all of halo wars 2's dlc, yet it does not give me
the option to download halo wars 2 on pc. I thought halo wars 2 was an xbox play anywhere game? Do I have to have it fully installed on the xbox for it to work?

To take advantage of Xbox Play Anywhere, you will need to have installed the Windows 10 Anniversary Edition update on your PC, as well as the latest update on your Xbox One console. Then, simply log into your Xbox Live/Microsoft account and your Xbox Play
Anywhere games will be available to download. On your Xbox One, games will show as “Ready to Install” under “My Games and Apps”. On your Windows 10 PC, games will appear in “My Library.” You will also need to ensure your PC meets the
minimum system requirements for the game (located at the bottom of that page).

the digital copy from amazon said "playanywhere" but the game in win10 store says: noope xbox only. and there is a playanywhere button right next to this ... looks a little bit wrong. by the way gears and horizon 3 are working fine
at my system.

PlayAnywhere only works when you buy a game as a digital purchase. I think Game Pass games are not PlayAnywhere as you have not purchase the game individually. Can someone validate this?

I can already validate this as I can play Forza Horizon 4, Gears of War 4, ReCore, Sea of Thieves and Halo Wars 2 on PC with the Xbox Game Pass. Halo Wars Definitive Edition seems to be the only play anywhere titles that doesn't appear to be working however.

Yes, it will work on your PC. Halo Wars 2 is an Xbox Play Anywhere title, you will always be able to play it on both your console, and your PC for as long as it is the digital copy, not a physical copy.

You have to purchase the digital game for it to be play any where. It does not work with game pass as you are only renting the game.

That is not true as I can play Forza Horizon 4, Gears of War 4, ReCore and Halo Wars 2 on PC with the Xbox Game Pass. Halo Wars Definitive Edition is the only Play Anywhere title which does not seems to work under Game Pass.
