Halo Wars 2 will not start - incorrect DX12 LVL 11 error message

I have Halo Wars 2 for XB1 but also decided to download it on my gaming laptop (Win10/i7-2.2/32GB), which has a Nvidia GTX 560M GPU in it.

When it starts up, it shows an error indicating that the GPU is not supported because it does not have DX12 Level 11 support. Fact is, this GPU does have Level 11 support and the Win10 OS also has DX12 on it.

When I run DXDIAG it shows the system as having DX12 and the GPU supporting Level 11

NVidia shows it supports DX12 LVL 11

DirectX Extensions Viewer shows it supports LVL 11

This laptop has more than enough power to easily run an RTS, so I'm not sure why your game's detection system is stating the GPU can not support what it needs. I think you need to review how your in game processing is testing the system. At least I can still
play it on XB1.

11 days after buying Halo WARS 2 ultimate edition I still haven't had my redeem code for the early access to Halo wars definitive edition

I pre-ordered Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition and was mean to receive a code for Halo Wars Definitive Edition. I ordered the game 11 days ago, and I haven't received any codes for either game (I can still play Halo Wars 2),.

Thanks for the detailed post, that's helpful and much appreciated. Looking over the information and specs provided, it looks like your video card doesn't meet the

minimum system requirements for Halo Wars 2 on Windows 10. The minimum required video card is an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650TI, AMD Radeon HD 7750, or Intel HD 520. Your NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M doesn't look to support feature level 11_1 for DX11 which is required
for Halo Wars 2.
