HALO WARS 2 = MOST ANTICIPATED GAME OF 2017

I'm so eager and exited for this game. Will be getting the ultimate edition which on Xbox store sells for NZ$129. I've checked other retailers and it appears the digital edition is cheaper than the disc version from retailers in my area. The unlimited version
also lets you play the game a few days earlier, and it has Halo Wars from Xbox 360 which I love. I usually play solo against AI with Halo Wars in deathmatch mode building lots of bases. Would like to see how this performs on Xbox 1. And I also have a high
end desktop so with Xbox Play Anywhere (I don't need Xbox Scorpio which isn't due out until later this year ) I can play it on my PC too. I've watched trailers and to be honest it looks better than Halo 5 trailers in my view. JB Hi Fi and EB Games also
well be selling dedicated PC versions for Halo Wars for like NZ$99. But with Xbox, Microsoft is offering the ultimate version for NZ$129 where I can play it on both Xbox AND PC. I also checked how much Microsoft will be charging Australia too (since Australia
is only 2 hours behind NZ time). And their price is AU$119. NZ$1 = AU$0.97 and it's been like that for the past 2 years.

Halo Wars 2 = most anticipated game for this month and 2017. I know of no other Xbox games announced for this year that interest me. Unless EA releases The Sims 4 for consoles this year (but have it on PC).

Who's on that Destiny 2 hype?!

I've been following every little thing about destiny 2 this is by far MY most anticipated game of 2017!

 

Have not received my Halo wars Definitive Edition code.

I pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition of Halo wars 2 on Feb 13, 2017 and have never received the code for the Halo Wars 1 via live message.

 

You said "I know of no other Xbox games announced for this year that interest me.". I say "Why do you even own a console when you are obviously in love with your pc?".

 

Red Dead 2,Forza 7, ME Andromeda & Ghost Recon,Thats 4 games that interest me more than Halo Wars 2 this year

 

I'm not into these types of games and the Halo story and characters are boring. Master Chief is possibly the most boring main character of all time.

Still having said that, I'll play it if it's good unless they have some smarmy dlc or microtransactions like Halo 5, then I'll pass.

 

Just Pre-ordered the Ultimate edition. Woo, yay! It's a pity the few here who make up the entire population of active Xbox 1 and Xbox 360, aren't as ecstatic about this Halo. Halo = Xbox. Even the Xbox boss will be interested in this title ^u^.

I got Xbox because I gave up on PC gaming in 2010 because my laptop kept crashing with The Sims 3 even though it meet the recommended requirements. I joined Xbox cuz I was sick of recommended and minimum system requirements. And because Xbox has Party Chat
voice messages etc etc etc, features which PS3 doesn't have. Also I like the simplicity and have meet hundreds of people online on Xbox 360/1. And it has games which are not on PC. It has Kinect which PC does not have. And have had a lot of fun with it. I
only recently took up PC gaming a year ago. It offers visual fidelity. And there are games like The Sims 4, Planet Coaster, and Cities Skylines, which are not yet on console. But I like the experience on Xbox. Xbox also doesn't get viruses. PC's are prone
to them. And you don't need to do naughty things to get a virus on a PC these days due to the state of the internet infrastructure. I will also leave my console on when I go to sleep tonight so that it can finish downloading the package which you can download
now if you've pre-ordered. Do I have a powerful PC? Yes. My desktop and a laptop. My desktop has the Intel Core i7-6700k high end processor. Those who pre-order get to start playing on February 17th the full game. Those who don't pre-order the game have to
wait until the full game releases on February 21. By then, there'll be tonnes of YouTube spoilers from the people who have pre-ordered and get to show off the full game earlier before the 21st.

Am glad you're hyped for Halo Wars 2, smileskybird, even though I detest the sight, sound and isometric angle of *any* strategy game! But hey, at least it's a Microsoft exclusive for those who need something to shout about. While you stated in your first
post there are no other "announced" games for 2017 that interest you, you're clearly forgetting about the megaton that is E3. And yes, there *will* be announcements!

In the meantime, I'm all caught up in a lovely return to form for BioShock: The Collection, followed by Ghost Recon Wildlands in March, and my MOST WANTED game of the year - Mass Effect Andromeda - which I get to play one week before everyone else (because
I bought the EA Access sub out of desperation)! In other "announced" games that are coming in 2017, I'm singularly hyped for Prey, Outlast 2, Agents of Mayhem, and Crackdown 3. "Halo = Xbox", for sure, but will we be seeing some form of COMBAT EVOLVED IN 4K this
year? The jury's still out.

 

I like a good RTS game & Halo Wars was good but I prefer playing them on pc & to be honest i'm bored to tears of the whole Halo universe.

Been playing them since the first one on the original xbox & used to love them but the whole Halo thing is just stale now.

I'll pick HW2 up at some point,probably when the summer drought hits but there are a lot more games out there i'm looking more forward to.

@ brandiesel,i'm pretty certain there's those stupid card pack things in Halo Wars 2 like in Halo 5 so microtransactions are there.

I wouldn't read too much into her comment, as Lei Fang's sense of community is slightly askew to others. She buys all the hottest MULTIPLAYER titles (Diablo 3, Destiny, Overwatch) and then chooses to solo them with bots. A community unto herself, then.

 

I imagine for the exclusives but the problem is that they are becoming somewhat rarer with Microsoft's Play Anywhere scheme.

This is great for PC gamers as they are getting great Xbox Titles without the need for another system and the need for a subscription to play online and use party chat. However I genuinely don't understand how this helps the console side of the Xbox brand.

What incentive is there for a PC gamer to pick up an Xbox One if they get the bulk of the games on their PC, is it worth buying a new system for one or two titles, and you'd have to pay a yearly fee to access services you currently get at no added cost.

Games get people to buy systems. As much as I like having access to the latest games from Xbox, I think the console needs to start keeping them for themselves.
