HALO Servers

Halo 2 servers went down when the Original Xbox Live servers went down. People still played Halo 2 when it was about and got free access to the Halo Reach beta.

Your latency problems are due to either who you play with or your own ISP link. 360 gaming is client/server or peer to peer, with the "server" being someone else's console. While there are some games with dedicated servers, they are the exception not the
rule.

Halo 1 is definitely more popular and I've never had a problem finding a server with players in it.

Just checked both games.

There's only 13 non-empty servers on Halo 2, only 2 of them have more than 10 players in.

There's 92 non-empty servers on Halo 1, alot of which are completely full with players.

Yes, Halo, Halo 2, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3, and Halo 4 will all be playable in online matchmaking. All running on their original engines with dedicated servers.

Call of duty uses different servers than halo, I will tell you in my experience that halo servers are better so it is possible that your connection cant handle call of duty.
