Are you receiving any error messages/codes? Also, since you are not using any inappropriate phrases or names, I would suggest to remove your account, restart your device then add it back and try again.

Hi there! Christopher here, an Xbox fan and been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. Some users have reported this issue with no certain solution, some users have done this and it has helped them to keep their Service Tags! We can try it: Open the Xbox Guide by pressing the guide button on the controller and select

Settings.

Select Network Settings.

Select Advanced Settings.

Under Change Settings select Alternate MAC Address.

Select Clear.

Allow the console to restart when prompted.

Hello and thank you for the response. Unfortunately, this did not work. I have tried two other methods alongside this one and they have not worked either. And no—I receive no error code or message when trying to change my service tag. Nothing happens at all when I attempt a change.

I don’t know if this has anything to do with this issue, but when glancing at my halo reach service record I see an old service tag as well as an old color and emblem—despite having changed them long ago.

This problem is really starting to frustrate me especially since it seems that none of my other methods of fixing this have worked. If you find a solution to this, please let me know. I would really appreciate it.

343 Industries recently updated their inappropriate phrases definition database. GOLD+Your gamertag may indicate an inappropriate word or phrase in 343's database. Remember: 343 acquired Halo from Bungie. Their inappropriate word flags may be different in
their eyes, compared to Bungie's.
