Halo: Reach, Games With Gold Version, Backwards Compatibility -- Not Launching Successfully

I got the Reach GWG version when it came out and played it on and off on my 360. I just got an Xbox One a few weeks ago, and I installed Reach on it shortly thereafter. I played it on a couple of different days, but then when I tried playing it again just
this last week, it wouldn't launch successfully.

Every time I tried launching it, it did the normal black screen delay. It displayed several of the opening screens, then paused and gave a colored white noise image and dropped me back to the main menu, with that white noise in the current app tile.

No matter how many times I tried launching it, launching other apps, or rebooting, it gave me this same result.

Anyone else having this issue with this or another game, and anyone know of a fix?

    :)

    MULTIPLAYER Xbox ONE vs. Xbox360

As Smwutches already said, Xbox One versions of games can't play Multiplayer with Xbox 360 versions of the game.

However, since the Xbox One is gradually getting Xbox 360 backwards compatible titles, some original Xbox 360 games can run on the Xbox One, and then the Xbox 360 and the emulated Xbox 360 games on the One can play together.

FIFA 16 and 17 are NOT backwards compatible games, so they don't work across Xbox One and Xbox 360.

    Forza 5 and 6 don't exist on the Xbox 360. Forza 5 and 6 doesn't work with the Xbox 360 Forzas 2, 3 and 4.

Later this year, the Xbox 360 Halo games will be made backwards compatible (there has not been a set release date yet). But currently HALO: REACH works on the Xbox One already, so your sons could at least play HALO: REACH with each other.

And as Smileskybird said, in the (not too distant) future, Minecraft should allow cross platform multiplayer. But currently it's not possible.

So to sum it up: Check this list here for games that your kids can play together on the Xbox 360, and the Xbox One through backwards compatibility:

Halo: Reach, Games With Gold Version, Backwards Compatibility -- Not Launching Successfully

    Hey there Brotuulaan.

Sorry about the trouble you're having! To start things off, please give your console a power cycle by holding down the Xbox button on your console for 8-10 seconds (until your Xbox One powers off). Once it shuts down completely boot it back up and give the
    game a try.

If you're still having trouble please try uninstalling the game and re-install it to see if there's any change. Let us know how it goes Halo: Reach, Games With Gold Version, Backwards Compatibility -- Not Launching Successfully :)

Is that a different power cycle than the standard power off (tap console; hold guide button, select console off)?

I was hoping to avoid uninstalling and reinstalling, but I guess if it comes to that, then that's that.

I'll follow those steps and post my results. Thanks for the reply!

    Hey Brotuulaan!

If you have your console set to instant on it is indeed a different power cycle. With Instant On your console is put into a lower power state, but holding down the power button completely powers down your Xbox One. Let us know how it goes Halo: Reach, Games With Gold Version, Backwards Compatibility -- Not Launching Successfully :)

Gotcha. I tried the power method, but it's yielding almost the same results. Now when it quits to the main menu, it has the Reach team picture in the tile. I tried it several times with the same results each time. I'll reinstall and reply again after that.

    Thanks again!
