Halo Reach 360 Console only getting 11Mbs Wifi Speed

My 360 console is only getting 11Mbs. I thought this console had Wifi N. I have a router that does n and ac on both 2.4 and 5Ghz. Security settings are currently set to wpa/wpa2. Shouldn't the console be picking up faster speeds than this, or am i missing
something?

Is your console far away from your router? What about interference? Cordless phones, microwaves, and pretty much anything can cause interference and slow your connection down.

I recommend a wired connection if you want the best speeds possible.

Also, the Slim Xbox console doesn't support the 5Ghz frequency.

 

no, its not too far, and a clear line of site. its connecting on the 2.4 frequency. I have other devices in the area and they are all getting at least 50Mbs. Looks like I'll be getting and extender.

 

Id recommend getting a Cat 6 Ethernet cable and running a wired connection. It's a cheaper alternative to a wifi range extender. Monoprice usually has the best prices for cables.

 

Should it? Yes. Does it? No. Your Wifi speeds are up to par with what I'm getting. My internet connection speed is double that, but the console only gets so much. Only thing I can suggest is making sure that your router has QoS (quality of service) enabled
and that the Xbox console is set to the highest priority.
