Halo MCC snubbed?

The week ending 27th December 2014 Halo: Master Chief Collection had sold a global total of 1.86 million copies. And this was over the course of almost 7 weeks!

By contrast, the Xbox One version of CoD Advanced Warfare had sold 3.87 million copies by the week ending 27th December 2014. Though it did come out 1 week before Halo MCC.

But even more interesting is that the Xbox One version of Titanfall had sold 1.69 million copies globally in its first 7 weeks of release. But take into account that the Xbox One had less than HALF the global install base back then than it did over the recent
holiday period....and was $150 more expensive.

Halo is meant to be the greatest flagship exclusives for the Xbox brand, yet only 1.86 million copies sold out of the estimated 11 million Xbox One owners there now currently are.

Does not really support the notion that gamers buy a certain console primarily for the exclusives it has.

Wait until Halo 5 comes out, then re-examine this notion. Halo MCC in essence, is just a bunch of old Halo games made playable on XO.

 

It's a remake collection, it also had issues that spread around quickly, so many passed.

 

I wonder how many people did hear about all the issues and just thought, I'll get it when they fix everything. It will be interesting to see what Halo 5 brings in...

 

I could care less about sells to be honest sells dont determine the quality of the game cod is proof of that and like others have said MCC is a remaster

 

Doc 7, pretty much nailed it. I was in no way interested in MCC, like he said, it's just old remakes that most have probably played before. Halo 5 is a different story though, and I'd be willing to bet that it will shift consoles the month it's released.

 

Word on the grapevine spreads quick. The multiplayer is pretty much broken in every country but the USA and a lot of people were interested in the game for the multiplayer.

 

No, I still think it's interesting how many units they sell, just in a money making perspective, I would never measure quality on game sales....

 

xbox one is the forth platform that Combat Evolved has released on, Halo 2s 3rd platform, and the 2nd platform for Halo 3&4. The Forward Unto Dawn is free to watch on the internet. If you are a Halo fan, there is nothing new except the Guardians beta. The
MCC represents fantastic value for anyone new to Halo, but anyone that was interested in Halo has surely played it before. That coupled to the fact it has the most broken multiplayer of any game released in 2014, means it has limited appeal.

I like Halo, and have bought all of them except MCC. I don't think I'd buy the Spartan Assault sequel, but Halo 5 is on my radar. Halo 5 will easily become xbox ones biggest selling exclusive.

 

MCC is pretty much fixed at this point, though another content update is up and coming this week.

 

There are around 80 million Xbox 360 sold and less than 5 million copies of Halo 4 were sold....

Don't worry,OP.....It has always been like that.

And i'm pretty sure any exclusive titles on consoles did not sold more than 5-8 million copies,usually less.

 

Loads of exclusives sell more than 5-8M - Kinect adventures sold 24M, Halo 3 14.5M, GT5 around 11M, Wii Sports over 82M and there are dozens of other examples.

 

Dozens of examples,but you can name 4 of them.

And of course most of them will sell more than 5-8 million over years...

I'm pretty sure by the end of Xbox one lifecycle,Halo MCC will have more than 5 million copies sold but in 6 months/ 1 year,not sure.

COD AW and Minecraft will reach it easily.
