HALO MCC not working anymore

Hi there

I bought HALO MCC on PC a few months ago and played with no issues, I went away for work for 2 months and came back to find that the game wouldn't update, I kept getting "Windows update error 0x80070424".

I have tried MANY fixes, ranging from doing things as simple as resetting the store and store cache, to ensuring my BITS is running correctly on windows and windows is up to date, I've also run Restoro as a repair tool but to no avail. I've managed to get the existing files uninstalled in the hopes that I'd be able to reinstall the game but the same error continues.

Any help would be appreciated, I've used the online chat feature will multiple people in an attempt to fix it but the issue has not been resolved.

It was ultimately the Powershell fix that sorted the app out.

Hey Conor-M-, how are you today? Hope you're well.

First, make sure your windows and all its services are up to date:

Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

Click Check for Updates;

Click the Download and Install Now option, if available;

Then try this:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for gaming services app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

If it still doesn't work:

In the windows search bar type Powershell > Right click and select open as administrator > Type the command: "get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-Appxpackage –allusers" > Wait for the process to finish and then restart the PC and try again.

If that doesn't work, try to restore your OS:

Step 1: Click Update & security on the Settings page to continue.

Step 2: Click Recovery and click Get Started on the right to continue.

Step 3: Choose Keep my files to reset your PC.

Step 4: Read the subsequent messages and click Reset.

After the computer has restarted successfully, you have refreshed Windows 10.

I'm having the same issue! I can't start Master Chief Collection after the Halo 2 update. I uninstalled MCC and now I can't even reinstall MCC! other games seem to be fine starting the download but none of the Halo games work anymore.

I have this issue now. It started when i was playing Halo MCC, nothing count's on my gamerscore and achievements doesn't pop anymore. Did you do something to get it work?
