    Halo: MCC Is Golden

Everyone is just going to have to get used to additional downloads when buying games on disc. A game disc can only hold up to 50gb of data. When games become bigger and more complex, the sizes are going to increase. It is too expensive to release games with
multiple discs so the remaining data will have to be downloaded, unless they find ways to better compress data of course! It is what it is.

    :)

    Ambassador program vanished.

Further note it claims I'm not on Gold when I apply, yet show's me as founder of the program, yet I'm playing Halo MCC online fine so I know the gold thing it claims is wrong.

This generation is becoming a joke. Getting really sick and tired of day one updates. Unless they release the game on two discs in the future I will not be buying the MCC.

It's about time people start to realize day one updates are more and more common,20Gb isn't a huge download and disc is part of the past.....If you can't handle this today better to stay on last gen systems, where a huge file is around 8Gb.

It's too expensive to release a game on 2 discs..............??????????????

Wow did you even think that through before typing it Zombie. It is more expensive for a customer who is on a data Cap. Which is quite a few people. And limit your sales base

A Blu-Ray Blank disc costs approx 50p (78cents) and that is a Verbatim, one of the well known top quality media. And you are talking about a publisher that will be buying them in the millions.......

Blu-ray cases (Amaray - Again top quality) are the same price retail, for a single case, as it is for a double case. Again, a publisher purchasing them in millions, if not owning their own disc and case manufactuers

The only extra cost you will have is from the actual pressing of the disc, and i would assume they have enough machines to press them quite rapidly and cheaply enough.

It would seem silly to some of the people on here. But 20gb is not a day one patch. It is one half of the whole game you are buying.

If customers are not made aware at point of sale that the disc only contains the SP, you may end up seeing Halo MCC not doing as well as should, for numerous reasons. People on Data Caps, People on slow internet, People who only want to play multiplayer.
(why should they have to purchase the whole game, when you can get the MP part as a 20gb DL from Xbox as a Day One)

It is illogical in the extreme to put the whole MP as a 20gb Download

But logical to have always the same haters,to give their feelings about something they won't buy, anyway.

Why is the day one update so massive? Anyway, not looking forward to this or Halo 5. At least not until my best friend gets One. I never really got into Halo despite owning CE, 3, 4, ODST and Reach... Halo: MCC Is Golden :)

  11. If you read my first post on the previous page Tzar, instead of reading what ones you like and what ones you don't like, you would see that i put at the end of the post....... I would say the same about any game on any console.....

How is that hating. Also, as posted in a previous thread, my boy has the X1 now, i use my PS4, i sold my 1st day edition, and got a new one for him when the kinect was removed. As his 3 of his friends have one.

I tell you what it is. It is you blinkered by a companies rose tinted glasses. Where they can do no wrong.

If it was Sony, or Nintendo, i would say the same thing.

It does not matter if digital is the furture, which i highly doubt, considering the size of some of the games now...... nearly 70gb for Halo MCC, 50gb for GTA5, new COD AW is going to about 45gb. Until the infrastructure and all isp's support unlimited Data,
which i don't see happening any time soon. Hard media will be around for some time.

Digital gaming is not like other digital media formats, because of its sheer size. Music Albums will always be the same size in MP3, Books will always be the same size, depending on page and word count, tv shows will be the same size depending on their bit
rate, but games have always got larger. Ever since the days of the Atari 2600, bigger and better looking. Better looking visuals and textures call for larger file sizes.

I never mentioned i hated Microsoft, i applaud them for getting their act together. What i hate seeing is companies producing half games, and then expecting people who have purchased a game, physically to be able to download another extra 20gb game. It is
released as half a game. It seems to be the norm today. And the gamers just sit back and take it. I pity this generation of gamers coming into gaming, getting games made of a poor quality, paying top money for their games, and getting bug riddled half games
that should have been whole at the start, whether that is physical or digital

  12. Hairy, I think you're wrong about other forms of entertainment being "the same size." Try taking the content for a movie that's on DVD and putting it onto a VHS tape. You won't be able to - at least not with the same quality of visuals and additional features
that a DVD can provide. And music? What kind of audio is it? How good is the quality? How long is the song? How many channels does it support? The same applies to books as well. How big is the book? Is it hardback or paperback? What's the word-count? How big
is the actual text-size? All of these and more affect the size and pricing of the entertainment medium in question. Video games are simply no exception. Halo: MCC Is Golden ;)

GG - word count affects digital books, as it is the reader, that changes font size.

Streaming media is the same size depending on bit rate and length, VHS can be compared to the tapes of old computers. How many 4k films have you seen available for dl lately. They tend to stop at 1080p, and that is compressed into another format, so you
don't get buffering, as most broadbands, could never support the native amount a full hd movie needs.

Download a mp3 from amazon or itunes or other companies, and see what bit rate you get. Minimum 128kb, higest is probably 320kb, which is not really needed as you won't be able to tell the difference on standard audio equipment. So, a 4 minute song at 320kb
will always be the same size. Regardless. Flac and lossless are different matters, but they will still be the same size depending on bit rate.

But games have increased, year on year, with games now hitting 60-70 gig, how long before they are over including. Games are not subject to bit rates, they are subject only to the limitations of the creator. And that means bigger and bigger games, in a bid
to win our money. Not always better games

  14. Hello everyone Halo: MCC Is Golden :)

I don't mind picking-up remastered versions of older games, but as much as I would love to get " Halo: Master Chief Collection ", I can't afford to buy every single game that I would like to have because they're way too much that are already out or are going
    to come out.

Have a nice day or afternoon or night everyone Halo: MCC Is Golden :)
