Halo MCC Game Pass version unplayable

I hear you about game pass being for trying lots of games, I just found it very upsetting that it seemed to be a very common issue without a proper effort by the devs to remedy it moving forward. Only lucky breaks here and there. The fact that I tried all of the available fixes without any progress also left me very displeased. Unfortunately I've done fresh installs on two of the PCs I tried running MCC on so I don't have alot of faith in that, but I appreciate how quickly you answered my question. I think I will likely unsubscribe from game pass and save that money to buy the games off steam. It seems to be a much more fruitful avenue for what I want. Since trying game pass with EA included I've been pulling my hair out and wishing for things to make sense. So I'll just stop trying and buy the games like the old days.

I had this issue around a year ago with my MCC. I could tell you all the 10 steps I followed to solve it, unfortunately my issue was solved when I reset my PC after another issue with my PC.

In the part of Windows 10 click on "Reset this PC" these instructions will help you to solve the problem, you can even leave your important files!

First up, given your scenario - couch co-op - it makes perfect sense to buy the Halo MCC game on two separate accounts on Steam. It's cheap and it's almsot always on sale. With the new Halo coming soon, it might get cheaper further.

Ultimately, the Xbox Game Pass (I have been an Ultimate subscriber from day one, going back years), is best suited for solo gamers who like to try out multiple games every month. I dont think it is suited for your situation. Yes, I would also recommend you switch back to the old school way of buying and playing games.

On a side note, my own experience, I dont have a couch partner. And, I am a huge Halo, Forza and Microsoft Flight Simulator fan. So, those three games cost alone justifies the subscription and you can get 100s of other games. So, it all works out fine, in my case.
