Halo losing it's thunder

ahh the library and two betrayals.. they were the 2 awful missions i played the other night

still willing to go through all of the campaigns though to see if they get better - i do remember having a blast on 4 player halo 3 back in the day.

just because it was released in 2001 doesn't mean it should feel old.. counter strike and unreal tournament still hold solid ground to this very day, and play exceedingly well for fps games.

you bet destiny has some of if not THE best shooter mechanics in the xbox MP history, Its an awesome game, I just wish it was not so bloody tedious, I always have a blast on iron hammer, an I like the challenges on nightfall, so far its my favorite game
of 2014-15

Come on Ghost, are you serious ? Halo has been around for over a decade, and Destiny for about a year, obviously Halo will have sold more, what was more impressive about the Halo sales is the fact it is an exclusive, like you I love Halo, but
we need to be honest, Halo is old and dated, had Destiny been on dedicated servers for PvP I know what I would be playing right now,

I'm hoping Halo 5 will begin to re-invent the series, 343i have stated they are trying to break away from Bungies Halo, they need to, I do not think for one minute that Halo 5 will be the salvation of the series, but from what I have seen 343i seem to be
heading in the right direction, I cannot wait for release day.

 

JltheStonewall….So, the game is a continuation of a storyline established in novels, which itself necessitates the novels. How can you judge the novels and extraneous lore without even trying them? As far as I'm aware, Destiny doesn't even have any novels,
comic books or anything to help it…..

Sorry Stonewall I was an adult in the 80s when Star Trek, Star Wars, and TSR started spamming out novels to their respected universes and had 2+ book shelves full of popcorn fiction. Then came the 90s with various Tv Shows spamming out their novels. I came
to the point where if the tv show, movie, or game does not enough self-contained story for me to enjoy, I am not going to spend much money on the supporting novels. Now if I can pick the novels used for a quarter or two, I will do so.

 

BUT, the game manual is a huge help to get players into the game, so you can't argue that Bungie stuck the player into a game without telling them anything about it. All you have to do is open the manual.

When Halo 5 pulls a half of billion dollars in revenue. I will be sure to dig this thread back up.

Halo is in better hands in my opinion. While Halo 1-3, ODST, and Reach were really cool. 3 being my favorite of the Bungie handled Halo games. 4 was my undisputed favorite. They took a "face" of a brand, a franchise, amd made him vulnerable. We seen
for brief moments John, not a massive Mk 2 Spartan. We seen the connection between Cortana, and John. (Cortana is NOT annoying).

Halo is not losing thunder. It is still as strong as its ever been.

If anything, the only thing Halo 5 may suffer from is its console is still in Purgatory from a mistake 2 years ago.

 

I bought the HMCC for the campaigns, Nightfall (meh) and the H5 beta. Just let me say, every day for the two weeks the beta ran I was playing. And I loved it!

 

Halo 4s campaign was good. My least favorite of all the fps games but still good. I did like MC through the game.

The Multiplayer is were the game had issues. I like every other halos mp but 4s, it wasn't bad it was actually good except it had loadouts,,weapon drops,varied power weapon spawns, and meh map designs. I did like the mp mode (domination?)were you take bases
and the get defensive upgrades alot.
