Halo Infinite Xbox PC app will not start

Ever since the game came out, whenever I start Halo Infinite through the XBOX PC App, it crashes. At first during the early multiplayer launch, it would crash before opening, so I just installed on Steam to play there. Now that the campaign is out and I have Gamepass, so I wanted to try again from the Xbox app so I can play the campaign. The issue is still happening. It crashes during the opening titles where is says Xbox and 343. The error I'm getting in event manager is as follows (omitted my pc and username):

Event 10016, DistributedCOM

The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID

{37399C92-DC3F-4B55-AE5B-811EE82398AD}

and APPID

{37399C92-DC3F-4B55-AE5B-811EE82398AD}

to the user [PC name]\[Username] SID (S-1-5-21-3609266891-2451306081-1193148179-1001) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Microsoft.GamingApp_2112.1001.10.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe SID (S-1-15-2-1723189366-2159580849-2248400763-1481059666-1951766778-2756563051-3565589001). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

I'm on windows 11 and have way over the required specs to play. Judging by the reviews on the xbox store, there are lots of people having crashing issues. Kinda frustrating that the game works perfectly fine through Steam on my PC, but does not through Microsoft's own platform. If anyone has found a way to workaround this issue at least, please let me know.

why do I need to alter my windows 10 when everything else accept halo infinite works as it should? ya ever think that the xbox app for PC for halo infinite was poorly very poorly written?

Kindly try the following and see if it addresses the issue.

✓ CLEAR CACHE:

a) Search Disk Cleanup on start up menu

Select your OS drive

Mark Temporary Files

Hit Clean up

Okay

b) Then search CMD and Run as Admin (right click on it to select admin permission)

Type

Ipconfig/flushDNS

Hit Enter

✓ Please sign out of the following and sign in back again.

Xbox app, EA desktop, MS store and PC

✓ RUN WINDOWS STORE TROUBLESHOOTER

Click on Start and select Settings.

Choose Update and security.

Click on Troubleshoot option.

Click Additional troubleshooters.

Scroll down and click on Windows Store Apps and click on Run the Troubleshooter.

The troubleshooter will scan the system for any problem related to the Windows Store and recommend fixes accordingly.

✓ RESET THE XBOX APP

Click Start and click Settings.

Select Apps

Select Apps & features.

Find the Xbox app and click Advanced options.

Click Reset.

Restart your device so that the changes can take effect. Sign in to the Xbox app and check if the same issue occurs.

✓ RESET WINDOWS STORE CACHE

Close store app

Press Windows Key+R to open run command

Type

WSreset.exe

And press Enter

Let the blank page process

Store will start automatically.

Had a similar issue and tried pretty much everything. Uninstalled Avast. Restarted. Using Windows Defender and works perfectly now.

Try reinstalling the Gaming Services app on your Windows 10 device:

- Right-click the Start button in the lower-left corner of the main screen, and then select Windows PowerShell (Admin).

- In the Administrator: Windows PowerShell screen, type the following command and press Enter:

get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

- In the same window, type the following command and press Enter:

start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

- Install the app on that page, and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.

- Restart your device, and try to install the game again.

If that doesn't help, Go below in regedit and delete both keys and reboot.

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServices

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServicesNet

If that doesn't help either, I'll suggest you run a scan to check for problems and repair them.

Press Windows + R, type cmd, and press Ctrl + Shift + Enter to run Command Prompt as administrator. Next type sfc /scannow in Command Prompt window, and press Enter to start to scan and repair corrupt system files in Windows 10.
